Hello All, Im new to Tacoma World.

I've been a lurker for quite some time, but I finally Found the truck I wanted so i ditched my Civic and pulled the trigger on it on. As of July 21st it was all mine :dancingbacon:

The day I drove off the lot, 5 miles on it

4 days later i decided it was time for a trip to Sycamore. I dented my factory skidplate on this trip, good times.

Decided to Plasti Dip my stock TRD Off-Road wheels, I think they turned out pretty swell.

    Current Mods
    -6000k Hi/Low HID's
    -AntennaX 5" antenna
    -Plasti Dipped wheels

    Future Plans
-Either Method or Mickey Thompson wheels (haven't decided yet)
    -Either DuraTrac's or Open Country's (270/70/17)
-30'" Light bar in the lower grill valence
-I would love a raptor style Satoshi grill, but dont have the balls to do the fab myself on it..
-Front and Rear Suspension lift (any input on what route to go would be awesome!:help:)
    -WeatherTech Laser floormats
    -Seat Covers
-Many more i just cant think of them.

I will update this as I go, not sure what my exact plans are but I'm just going to go with the flow.

I love it so far, the only thing I miss about my Civic is the MPG haha.

Where did you get your grill by chance?

So I bought this new 2014 tacoma and Ive added about 1,000 pounds of steel so I bought a 2013 Ford focus to commute in. I made my grill. I ordered a color matach grill from a trd sport. I cut out the plastic added grill craft mesh then I ordered the letters from bay area metal fabrication.

I know this topic has been Beaten to death but i want first hand input pertaining to what I'm thinking.

    I know I want

5100's in the front (for the time being)
    OME 885 Coils
    Driverside Spacer (Driver Lean fix)

In the rear I'm Debating new shocks as well, keep in mind I have the factory Bilstiens.

Should i swap them with 5100's, 5160's, or are the factory TRD Off-Road shocks fine.

Then I am not sure what AAL I want/should do.

I've done a ton of lurking a researching but none compare the 5160's and the 5100's to the Factory Off-Road shocks.

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks Guys

The 5100 shocks are better then the factory as far as the 5160 anything with a resi is going to be better then the same shock without the resi. When I had my prerunner I had an icon AAL and it was good for some height. It was progressive with multiple springs vs. just an AAL with 1 spring and other than that I do not know any other differences maybe somone else can chime in. Hope this helps

Thanks man, Yeah i guess thats where my knowledge ends..

    Do I want a progressive?
Or a single AAL?? Im assuming Progressive is going to make the ride quality better.

Im going for about 2-2.5 in the front and whatever in the back that will make it level.

It all depends I have never ridin in truck with any AAL other than an Icon one its pretty stiff but it rides nice. When I had my prerunner without the spindles I was pretty much level with 2.5 and that AAL although I am a fan of the nose up...

Alright for sure, would you say its stiffer than factory ride? Or a little smoother?

I know this may be a weird response but I haven't ridden in a stock truck for over a year I honestly don't remember what it was like... Sorry that doesn't help much

Dang can't say I've ever purchased a vehicle with only 5 miles on it. Love the white and the new damage.
