I would have said that in the past and have said that in the past. But looking from the other side of the fence I can tell you that there sometimes comes a time when you have no control. Mental health issues are a great passion of mine now that I have been though what I have suffered though. I feel for him and his family. I think you and I could agree that a rational thinking person would find it very hard to do harm to themselves. I'm not taking up for any position It's just truly sad all the way around.

Mental health issues have such a stigma surrounding them that many suffer in silence until it is too late to turn back.

He could've been holding on and holding out for years for others. Depression is deep for some and misunderstood by many. It's as real as cancer and sometimes far worse. And to combine with usage (which he was probably trying to self medicate) must've made it worse.

No doubt very sad for his wife , children etc.

I wonder what there was to be depressed about. We all see him so happy and cheerful in his movies it's hard to imagine what he was really going through. Great man, sad way to go out.

Sometimes it doesn't have to be "about" anything, it just happens. Goes to show you could seemingly have it all and it hits you.
