Iroc 285's measure in at 33", about 32" with truck weight on them. And their beefy:cool:
I'm very happy with these tires, but they do sound like a single engine plane going down the road.

This is why I hate the metric tire sizing , some 285's measure out to 30"-31.5" some are almost 33", some 315's people will swear they're 35"'s & are shocked to find that they're barely true 33"'s.. Too many variations..

Got some powder-coated 15's for my baby. Relatively decent tires with them as well. I was riding on wires with the set of tires I took off. Had to get spacers for the front to clear the calipers. I think my truck just looks sick...pic pr0n time.

From this setup, 33's on 18's
    [IMG]

    These...31x10.50.15

    To this...

I kinda wanna paint the hub centers black just to match everything. Overall, I'm happy. Getting an alignment (if needed) in the morning. OH! Also installed stock headlights from fleBay. Light scatter for days...can't wait to do another retrofit.

Yep that's the problem. It's pretty uncommon to find a tire that actually measures true to what they label them as

You're missing your front center caps that protect your hub/CV axle nut.

Hooked up my ScanGauge II to the 97 Taco this morning and drove to work. About 45 highway miles (very little city start and stop), but two large grade changes: 1 down and 1 up to get to work. Filled the tank after the PCV valve change, and dropped in a fuel cleaner just for grins. Gauge tells me 28.3mpg as the average. I'll run this several times to get a good baseline, but if I am topping 28mpg in this 17 year old truck.... nice.

    My plans for the weekend:

    Clean the throttle body
    Replace fuel filter
Replace starter (mice/rabbits chewed the wire and it is hesitating a bit to start)
    Clean the MAF

Since I don't want the hassle of threading the fuel filter through the wheel, and since I want to really clean out that throttle body, I'll just tear down the manifold and remove all the parts through the top. I'll post pics!

Also thinking of picking up a cheap USB endo/borescope off the web and take a peek inside my plug holes (there is a joke in there). Won't have that this weekend, but when I do I'll post that up as well.

Its not a hub cap. Its a black steel cap that fits into the hub to protect the castle nut. I'll post a pic in a few minutes once I get to a computer.

I have them. They only add about 3/4" of extra lift.

Thanks guys! I'm really digging it too. They don't fill out the wheel wells as much, but I think that's why I like this setup. It looks so much better. Along with the aggressive tread of the new-to-me tires. Glad I got these on before September and the run to Mojave. I know what dispatch55126 is talking about. I never had some on there. Don't know if they ever did. Mine were always exposed. I have a few things that I want to do before the Mojave night run. I'm thinking of just taking off my front bumper for some clearance. It's just held on by 4 bolts. Hmmm...decisions decisions. I think I'm just gonna hit the flares with a satin black. Tape everything off and hit it.

Since my first tire rotation, I have never seen those on my truck.

As for my flares, I used the heat gun method and that has served me well. But I fear that is only holding off for not much longer. Paint it is. I have a few cans of satin black so I'll probably get to that this weekend or something.

What's up Blue! Ya man, I "sold/traded" my tube bumper to a friend on here. He has a 2000 and he threw in the bumpers for free so I said why not. I can't wait until I start my new job and get the cash flowing again to get this thing desert/dune ready.

Do it man, simple things like that make the rig look way better IMO. a few beers, and a couple of hours and you are good to go! :D

Have you thought about bedliner? gives it a nice texture. Then hit it with satin black. Looks killer. See my build

I'm guessing you mean with a empty bed?

And you must mean with the bed loaded with gear?
