Right now I'm keeping the upper sime and budget friendly. I'm contemplating getting the Spikes LE complete upper since it's about $500 shipped and everything is Mil-spec. But I have a few days to decide.

If you ever like to shooting on island just hit me up!

oh the one on ig…it was my truck up against the tree and the other one was after I took another trail, reversed and hooked up to the trailer n showing the hill and tree I went into.
kinda hard to see it, but on the far right its really dug up and I was aiming straight ahead and originally far from the tree. When I didn't get up and I got on the brakes, it slid down the hill. I reversed it a little to get the trailer off, but it slid back into the tree. How the front was pointing was kinda weird, the truck was sitting sideways on the trail…but up on the hill it really opened up.
Ive done those trails a bunch times, just haven't had a trailer.

hows ammo prices on oahu? I havent really checked, but 5.56 is still like 40-60 cents a round on the BI

So far I like the spikes stuff, it's hard to beat for the money. But a nicer lower is probably in my distant future..

I haven't checked in a while, but I wanna say it's about the same if you buy in bulk. I remember security equipment had 1000 rounds of Federal 5.56 for $430-$450 earlier this year, but that's beyond my budget right now.

Sports authority is always $20 for 20 rounds of Winchester lol :p

Hopefully I'll be ready to test this thing out in a few weeks. I want to build this one as a basic general purpose 16" carbine rifle that I will upgrade later. Then I want to build a second rifle length 18" or 20" barrel scoped AR. I also want to build a 300 AAC upper just for kicks.

nice! Reminds me I gotta buy another EOtech or something, sometime. Mine's dying, can't even see the reticle in direct sunlight anymore :(

I was really tempted to buy a SBR upper in Vegas, ship it back
and use it as a paperweight/doorstop *coughcoughcoughcough*

guess ammo's pretty much the same in the state then. a fuckton better than during the scare though

shit, you can drive up there? hapuna right?

fuck man, I haven't done any wheeling at all since I've been home. got the MT and bumper on so it looks really pretty sitting under a tent

coffee season started back up, I've just been spraying poison and doing all the things I don't want my parents doing so they don't get hurt :l

I fly back to oahu on thursday at 2, so I might head down to maks at like 5 or 6 for a poser wheeling photoshoot haha

Not bad at all. Go to HPD and fill alit about 5 easy forms. Get printed, pay a one time few of $16.50 (free every time you get any other permit) and wait two weeks. Then pick up your permit and go buy your long gun. Once you buy the firearm you have 5 days to take it back to HPD to register it, no fee for registration. After that you are good for life. If your permit expires, you just can't buy new rifles until you get a new permit. Long gun permits are good for 365 days from the date of pickup.

Rifles are much easier than pistols because a rifle permit to aquire is good for unlimited purchases of long guns for a year. Simply go apply at HPD, wait 14 days, pick up your permit, and purchase away. Only other requirement is that you take each rifle/shotgun purchased to HPD to register.

For a pistol, you have to purchase the pistol, apply for your permit with the pistol serial number/caliber/barrel length, wait 14 days, pick up your permit, go back and pick up your pistol, then take the pistol to HPD.

First time application will require a $16.50 FBI fingerprint fee (exact change in cash), doctor's contact info, and identification, etc. Pistol permit also requires proof of training from a certified firearms instructor or a military training memo.

EDIT: Sorry Nate - you beat me by a minute!

I forget.. do you need a sonething like Hunters Ed in order to get a long gun??? I did the NRA life course back in the day for handguns. Other than 2 revolvers I bought off my neighbor, all my other stuff has been purchased on the mainland, brought back over, and registered here.. beats the waiting game.

No. Rifle just need background check.

Rifle permit is cool cause it's good for a year and you can buy however many you want everyday for a year if you wanted to.
