Saw a sow (Kodiak Bear) and her two cubs on the beach this morning, about 600 feet away from where I've got the boat anchored up. Pretty cool.

Friend of mine has some footage of a pod of Orcas separating a juvenile Humpback from it's mother.. And the ensuing feeding frenzy that followed. All of it happened about 100 feet off of his bow. I'll see if I can get a copy.

I'll see mountain goats on the high cliff sides and precipices as I'm driving by about a mile off the beach; absolutely incredible. Those animals are some tough/and or stupid bastards

You get spoiled with the wildlife up here.

I'm stoked to be back to WA - just have to catch our pollock in Sept., then I'll be back. Anxious to get my fab business off the ground a little more, and devote some time to developing some new products. Have a few ideas that I'm fairly certain will do well.

As I've said, I'd like to get some longer trips in the works - with some technical driving and isolated areas thrown in. I've found that tends to be what I really like; a trip with an end destination. From what I've researched, it'll be too late to do the Whipsaw - but perhaps some portions of the ORBDR might be in order. I dunno.

my first deer hunt might be on a property on San Juan island. Lady says her property is overloaded and they eat her garden.

I have an Idaho deer tag as well. I head up to Sandpoint Idaho every year so hopefully I can hook up with a family member there for hunting.

There is nothing but deer on the islands here, and Idaho is the best. Headed that way in a week :D

You won't need anything powerful for the island deer. Those suckers are petite. I also believe deer must be hunted with a shotty in the islands IIRC.

interesting, I'll have to confirm that. I don't really want to buy any new guns this year. Spent enough on my truck already. I have shotguns though and 00 shells.

x100. It would have to be fairly small groups but I'd be very open to this. It would be great to come with somebody experienced in bird hunting so I could help and learn as well.

I've gone deer hunting 1 year and saw a couple spikes but nothing to lob a piece of lead at. I was a little frustrated though because it was on a buddy's property and I didn't do the proper scouting beforehand.

Is there any actual interest here?

What are the regulations like for bringing a hunting rifle into Canada and getting licensed? I have some relatives in the Coquitlam area...

yes I would go for any type of hunting.

I have 3 game camera's I could set up somewhere for scouting. Last year I had them set up in Idaho and just marked each one on GPS so I wouldn't lose them. I caught some great pictures of doe's but that's it. lol

I have an uncle in B.C. who goes for Elk and Moose every year way up north. He said that he could be my "guide" and get the license that way. I might do that next year. He also has a .338 up there that he said he would sell me.

Northern BC is really really amazing...and you can hunt pretty much any thing out there. Most of the outfitters provide their guns cause its not easy getting a gun across.

Hey guys! Good news, I have a new HC rear bumper w/ tire carrier in the works! :yay:
Can't wait to test it out on the next meet!

Better news: I'M GOING TO MOAB IN 5 WEEKS!

And now a question: How stupid would it be to buy this for a full size spare? Its going on the bumper so I'd probably plastiderp it. Its 5.5" backspacing... I reckon it'd be good...

IMHO, if you're going to spend money on a spare, go for a matching one so you can rotate it in regularly and put it to use.
