I recently adjusted both the crosscut and bevel stop functions of one of my LS1013's and it's cutting beautifully again

They will hog out a lot of material but for instance I was running 4 trims on edge at a time so roughly 3" of material and I usually limit my final passes to 1/32 to avoid tear out on the surface but if you were doing rough dimensioning you could get close to 1/8 , 1/16+ anyway depending on wood species

Have the Hitachi in the shop its nice to have one that doesn't get hauled around all time less time spent tuning it up. Laser is starting to go after 10 years.

That's not bad at all. Next big shop upgrades either a helical head planer or thickness sander.

I bought an 18V Makita drill driver combo similar to the Milwaukee pictured above because it was just as cheap as the drill by itself. I hadn't found a use for the impact driver until yesterday when it came in very handy in taking hundreds of 3/8" bolts out of a grain bin. Mine is to weak for the automotive applications I tried it on but it was able to twist a couple of the stubborn grain bin bolts off.

Right, I'm aware of what it's used for. But if you've gotten far enough along in the project that you're to the epoxy stage, I'd think you'd have some sawdust.

Are these newer models you've had issue with?

I picked up a used DW716 12 inch (non-sliding) about 7 years ago and it's been awesome. I just replaced the throat plate, checked all the stops (the were fine), and have had zero problems. Pretty much weekend warrior duty and restoration work, but still seems totally solid.

While it is very rare for me to contract with anyone to do anything on my home, I had to let someone do this because of time. My POS starter home that I've been in for 30 years was built with Themo-ply Blue sheathing instead of OSB. It's like 1/8" foil backed cardboard. It then had aluminum siding over that. I have had 1/2" OSB, Tyvek housewrap, 1/2" R-Tech foam board, full core vinyl siding (has another 1/2" foam built in), and new windows installed. This all went on my existing 2x6 exterior walls with R-19 insulation. Wow. It's quiet in the house and hopefully it will improve my utility bills.

Nice! I love seeing old houses made more energy efficient!
How far out did they have to extend the window surrounds after all that adding on?

Any recommendations for a smaller air compressor? I want to pick one up so I don't have to use the shitty air fillers at the gas station, was going to buy a HF beater but fiance (thankfully!) asked why not get a better one that'll be more functional down the road when we have home projects to do and I can get a nail gun and other fun stuff. Any suggestions? Don't need huge and price is a consideration

I have a small DeWalt twin tank that will keep up ok with a single framing nailer
