Is anyone running Flowmaster or Dynomax muffler on there Gen one 3.4L v6?

    If so what Model?
    How's it sound?
do you have video or sound clip?

I've been doing some research, found some replacement mufflers from Flowmaster. I like Dynomax, I had it on my jeep few yrs back. But havent found the exact model replacement.

I'm looking to give my Taco a more aggressive sound. But leaving the piping stock. I dont want flashy chrome tips or anything, plus I'm on a budget. So the Cat-back systems are pretty much out.

contact Will (tacomaman06). He has (and loves) the dynomax super turbo on his 04 3.4L. The dynomax will give you the best power gain, while flowmaster will cause you a slight loss.

Ive got a flowmaster 40 series on my truck right now. I first put it on there with just a turn down but it sounded like a damn ricer.

So I put back on the stock tailpipe and I dont know it doesn't sound bad doesnt sound great. It sounds like a V-6 with a V-8 exhaust. Its not to loud with the tailpipe on it but you can still hear it!!

I have a 40 series muffler, ss tip & stock pipes. Kinda wish I hadn't taken out my stock muffler for it. To loud and just haven't had time to get something different installed.

Ya the more I think about it I would definitely go with something besides a flowmaster. I really cant stand the way they sound on V-8's anymore ether. My new favorite muffler is the Magnaflows. They sound good when you get on it but aren't annoyingly loud

    Good Luck

I wish I hadn't gone the 2 chamber 40 series but at least the 50 series because my whole cab is Dynamat'd but still loud with the windows up...what I should have done was wait to find a shop for a Magnaflow muffler like the 18" length, 24" overall w/ stop pipe. Now you got me wondering about getting my taken out for a new setup. Sigh thanks...LOL :p

I had a gen 1 v6 with trd headers and true dual exhaust.. flowmaster 1 chamber on each side sounded good really really loud under WOT though

So I am new to the tacoma scene and am also looking for a new exhaust replacement. Flowmasters are pretty much out, (not looking for too loud) but I run Magnaflow on my cougar and it sounds really nice, Thinking about going that route on my 95. Any helpful hints on DIY exhaust?

I kinda like the sound of my Gibson! with the TRD Headers it got a little raspy, but its a nice deep, low, mellow tone from inside the cab.

I'm wanting to do th Dynomax super turbo for the hp gain, plus not a lot of increased sound as with others.

I have a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on my 3RZ engine. Kinda sounded riced when i first put it on because it was just dumped under the bed, but i put the stock tailpipe back in and i like how it sounds. Not too loud, but makes some noise when i'm on the throttle.
So with a 5VZ, that muffler and the stock tailpipe would sound even nicer.
