I have been looking this morning on the best prices for the bilstein 5100 for the '11 AC Taco...Wheelers Off Road seems like the "best" price so far...does anyone have a better recommendation? I looked at Summit Racing, Tire Rack, Amazon and 4wheel parts and Wheeler is coming out 15%-30% lower...

Headstrong was better deal this time for the 08 RC but last time went with DSM on the 05 AC. They were within $30 of each other when comparing prices for the 08 a coupla months ago. IIRC, most of that was shipping free at HS vs. paying for shipping at DSM and DSM may not have had them in stock at the time.

thanks, I checked their sites and Wheeler is still looking a bit better...I will give this a rest for a day and see what other suggestions come up.

The rear Rancho shocks came in today from Rock Auto, looks like it will take longer to sweep the shop floor that to change the rear shocks.

MY issue with 4 wheel parts is that they always have sales going on and coupon codes I get regularly. However the sales and coupons work on the stuff no one needs it to work on. I had one that they wouldn't honor on 5100's. Then had another that was 20% off anything in your cart. They wouldn't honor because winches weren't included.

    For all 4 5100s:
    Wheelers $315 + shipping
    DSM $319.99 Free shipping
    Headstrong $315.99 Free shipping

    Am I missing something here?

I am putting the 5100 on the front, the rancho's on the back ($90/pair from Rock Auto). Wheelers was $170 for the front with free shipping, with DSM and Headstrong between 185 and 195.

Cool deal, I was not aware Wheelers offered free shipping on them as they don't advertise this. Sucks for folks who bought and paid the shipping :(

Looks like you got a special deal unless all TWers are intitled to this, haven't checked

Ranchos in the back.... hmmm thats interesting. Haven't owned a set of Ranchos since highschool. Were okay shocks, remember them being on the stiff end.

Penny saved is a penny earned

Let me guess, they are doing the install right?

If this is the case you can't compare against the other comps because they will just add to the install fee to make up for the discount on the shocks.

Oh the shame, the shame...it took me 35 minutes to install the back shocks. But the top of the shocks snapped off so I had to dig out the angle head grinder to cut the top nut and shaft off...

I must be getting old and slow.

The bilsteins 5100 from the front are due in this week and I should have time this weekend to install...and gocha's or unusual problems with changing out the stuts? I have worn out more than one set of spring compressors on both coil overs and regular coils.

I ended up using Wheelers...I am looking forward to getting the truck finally level.
