Grey wire MOD, deck plate, diff breather MOD, 2nd gen. OME 883# on Tundra 5100's, OMD custom 3" leafsprings, rear shock relocation, Ivan Stewart TRD rims w/285/75/16's, '02 bumper MOD, Famous Fabrications sliders , LED interior/exterior lights, bed bar, Custom tube bumper, Old school KC day lighters,Red Ring 8" HID flood, Kenwood vhf 2M.. umm some other shit I'm forgetting right now
One more thing, I run 2nd gen. 883#, firm but not harsh & you don't need 1000lbs of shit in front to make it ride decent...

When increasing load rate theres a trade off & that being ride quality, now the quality of ride is subjective, what one person thinks is too stiff another will find quite acceptable, the image of the 4-leafs I posted yeilds 2.5"-3" of lift & accomodates roughly 400 extra pounds of payload
without beating the hell out of you when bed is empty..

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I had to ride in a coworkers cobalt with "racing suspension" on it yesterday. First off, my back now hurts, and it was the worst ride I have ever been in. But, he thinks the ride is soft . My truck felt like a cadillac compared to his shit box.

I'd probably go with an adjustable coilover up front if you're not sure exactly how much lift you want. The OME stuff is good, but it's hit or miss with people liking it. I know you said 1-2" is what you are looking for, but like the look of a 3". I think an adjustable coilover would be perfect here because you can change your mind and not have to rebuy/reinstall everything again. You can set them up for 1-2" and bump them up if you feel like a bigger lift. Trust me, most guys start with 1-2" and quickly regret it and want the full 3". Toytec has reasonably priced coilovers (complete lift, but with an add a leaf http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/BOSS-Suspension-System-for-955-04-Tacoma_p_784.html) or go with some SAW 2.0's which will be more than enough for your application ( )

With that you will probably stick with the stock tires at first, but once it's lifted they will look out of place. A 265/75/16 is a good compromise as it looks good with a 1-3" lift and won't kill your power/mpg's.

In regards to UCA's, if you go 3", I'd suggest getting some. I hate how my 4runner rides with a 3" and stock UCA's. It wanders on the freeway and not the ideal ride. I know a lot of guys are fine with it, but I can't stand it. You will be fine with a 1-2" on stock UCA's, but over 2" and I'd suggest some UCA's for a more family friendly ride.

This is pretty good advice for the front, as long as you can adjust dampening to compensate increasing preload on the coils

yeah yeah, I know. You and I talked about a year ago when I lived in Poway. Should have done it then but never pulled the trigger. My stock leafs are shot though. How confident are you that adding the two additional springs will help me out?

The Toytec is just Eibachs over billies no?

How much better will the SAW 2.0 ride compared to the Toytec? If I got Sway A Ways for up front I could do Wheelers/Deaver 8 pack or Dakars in back and get those funky Timbren bump stops later if needed.

400 lbs of extra payload over stock or 400 lbs of payload? my shell probably weighs close to 100 by itself. At least it feels that heavy when I'm putting it on by myself.

Somewhat, the Boss coilovers are supposedly tuned for Tacoma's better than the standard 5100's. They are just their standard Eibachs though, but you can choose the spring rate. I'd choose 600 lbs as it rides good on road and will hold any additional weight you may throw at it.

I'd say they are pretty equivalent to each other and a first time user won't notice a major difference. The SAW's are rebuidable, which is a good thing, but you will have to maintenance them at some point (40-50K typically). The Boss is non-rebuildable, which is nice, but if a shock breaks, leaks or damaged it needs to be completely replaced. I haven't heard of it happening, but they are relatively new so it may come up eventually.

I have no experience with leafs, so I can't help you out there, but SAW's up front will be a great ride.

I'm 100% confident, IF stock mains are still good meaning a little sagging/frowning at the eyeletts is not an issue, if they're actually bent then no bueno~...

Yes, the Toytec/Eibachs are just a coil over the 5100's so with no real way to easily re valve the billies you're stuck with dampening provided which isn't bad just no range of adjustment, the SAW's would obliviously be better, for the rear Deavers/OME/Allpros are all good springs but remember that with progressive packs or any packs that use multiple thinner leafs are going to sag out on you if carrying weight/offroading sooner than a linear spring

Yeah, its above whatever the stock claim is I basically threw the 400lbs number as a conservative number, there again you can increase that or decrease depending on length & thickness of donor springs used

OP - When unloaded, are your leaf springs flat or are they frowning over the axle?

5 inch tuff country lift, 1.5 spacers, 33 inch nitto trail grapplers, shorty antenna, k&n cold air intake, pro comp suspension, flow Master cat back,
you could add a leveling kit i had one before i went to an actual lift. i had 33 inch nittos, they rubbed a little but you can trim the plastic and bend the pinch weld.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It'd be a better view from the side but no matter, Other than the usual linear warping , not bad at all...
