Turn signal problem

Hey fellow TW members, I just had a question and tried searching but didn't find a fix for my problem.
I installed Chrisjumper's LED turn signal lights since LEDs operate with a cooler temp so I wouldn't have to deal with the melting lens problem. They work perfect for about a year and now when I flip the left turn signal it blinks really fast. I went to check out all the lights and none of them are burnt out. So any suggestions on what's going on?

 

I would start by checking the resistors you had to install when you put in LED turn signal bulbs.

 

the problem is that he most likely didn't install resisters, as that is exactly what you install with LED lights to fix the fast blinking

I installed the resistors when I first had the LED lights put in. Would I need a new one then? Do they burn out too?

As for what exact resisters you'll specifically need, I'm not sure.

 

Everything can break. I would think it would probably be burnt out maybe a manufacturing defect. I'd also check the wires and connections for the resistor.

Resistors typically wont start raising in value, they'd just go to open circuit. I'll bet that your resistance is in parallel to ground with the bulb and either a wire broke off or the resistor opened leaving only the LED resistance to ground. I do however agree that its a resistor problem, there isn't enough load on the flasher module to make it blink slow.

 

Thanks guys, I just installed the resistors yesterday for both sides and although it took me a while because I didn't know which side to plug in to which, in the end they worked.
