^^^ if this, and what was mentioned earlier about how tony probably didn't see the caution flag then that would explain why he revved the engine because he was still racing. Then when he heard or felt what happened he let off.

Pretty much correct....they use different sized tires on each side to help them make sliding turns at speeds.. they lift as little as possible to keep the RPMs up..

Bottom line is that he's dead because he got out of his race car and proceeded to walk towards oncoming race cars. I'm sure most of us have seen videos of drivers climbing out, throwing their helmets and yelling at the ones they think are to blame. It's actually a miracle this hasn't happened before. Then again it probably has but there wasn't a famous driver involved so we didn't hear about it.

My friend races those in NV you dont revv to avoid someone, he clearly tried to scare him and took it to far. Most people here are sticking up for Tony cause of his name thats fine but he'll have his day in court. Tony was pacing around the track then when he approached Kevin he revved it how can you people not hear that quit making excuses for the guy. He even knows hes in deep shit thats why he dropped out of the races.
They are both to blame but it shouldnt have cost someone their life.

I ran accross some new video on you tube where it clearly shows that Ward grabbed onto Tony's Top wing from the side of Tony's car and was hanging on for several feet before he finally let go or lost his grip. This video clearly confirms that Tony never ran him over like all you fools speculated. Check out this link you ignorant fools who called Tony a hot headed murderer. Looks to me like Ward was playing with death and he lost. Very unfortunate.

We clearly don't know anything, and may never know. The only 2 people that know what happened are Tony Stewart and Kevin Ward.

True, but revving there car at someone is not the way to go and fish tailed into someone who was also hotheaded as well.

I thought the same thing too from the view I saw. It looked to me like TS was simply driving by and never saw him, and when he hit the guy, that's when the car veered to the right slightly. And getting out onto a dark track in a black suit at night is just plain asking to get hit.

I just find it a little ironic that the person that hit him is the person that he had an issue with on the track... Again not saying Tony intentionally tried to hit him but it seems he may have tried to get close to scare/piss him off.

It's not ironic, it was the line Tony had been using, so naturally he's going to be in that line, and that's when the guy who was pissed off jumped out at him.

Relax man, only Tony knows what happened, he is grieving and media is up his ass right not that's why he's not racing, it would be a circus if he did, the other drivers would be in danger because the amount of concentration would not be there also. And yes, a lot of sprint car drivers have came out and said these sprint cars need gas to get them to turn, maybe he was doing that, maybe he was "revving", you don't know I don't know only tony knows. It is definitely not "clear".

I dont think everyone is sticking up for stewart, personally I think he's a dick with a poor attitude, personal feelings aside not his fault , still lies with that kid getting out to confront someone on a hot track thats dirt at that...

Watch the slow motion video, Tonys car was sideways before he hit him. He's known as a hot head, it's very possible he made a stupid decision and attempted to annoy/harass Ward and lost control or misjudged his actions. Again, I'm not saying he intentionally hit him.

Also, if it's so hard to see, how did Ward know it was Tony that ran him off the track?

Ward's vehicle was turned towards Tony's and not in a blind spot.

Maybe comms ?? I'm no expert on sprints but seems to me they're totally set up to drift/slide thru corners & that requires stabbing the skinny pedal to steer thru them I'd think & if he was already sliding (more than likely) all bets are off you only have so much control sliding in dirt

Normally you know who you're dicing with, and I'm sure the huge number 14 on the side of the car had something to do with it, but the only video I've seen is the one where the camera had to pan back really quick to catch the shot. It appeared to me TS was simply driving by and never saw the guy, and when he hit him that's when the car shot right a bit from the impact. I haven't seen any other videos. I'm not sticking up for anyone, I'm not even familiar with TS, but I do know one thing, running out onto a track is gonna get you run over. And honestly, why would anyone intentionally run someone down?

    I agree.
I'm being open minded about the incident. With the very little I've seen and what I've read about the two drivers, I'm saying its possible and I would investigate the fact that Tony may have been trying to get a rise out of Ward... I've seen a few videos some better and some with sound but before the impact there seemed to be a quick acceleration and the car was sideways before it hit Ward. I would bet there is some better footage in the hands of the investigators and multiple witnesses being interviewed.

Because they were racing like that for longer than the 10 sec clip you saw. Something to consider from your statement, Tony races these cars 100 times a year, for him to make a mistake like that under caution would be very slim to none. I also doubt he would be trying to harass a 20 year old in a sprint car race and put himself in that type of position with as much as he's accomplished and does for the sport.

And for the character haters: Tony is THE most charitable driver in nascar also, and the first who would send a helicopter to a fellow competitor if they missed a flight. He's just a fierce competitor and all those who comment on his character never say any of the good he's done, only fair.
