White Taillight Mod Completed!

I used epoxy to seal everything back together and then 3 layers of RTV sealant applied after each layer had dried.

 

What color are your emblems?

Nice. I wanted to know that guys though because he is also Black Sand Pearl and I am debating on either keeping debadged or putting black badges on (flat/matte/glossy)

 

Actually I plastidipped mine flat black in case I didn't like them. They turned out really good and I like them. I debaged my 2011 and I like that option also. In fact I've debaged almost every single vehicle I've ever owned. I just wanted to try something different with this truck. My original intent was to debage this one also.

Thinking about painting the rear bumper this weekend.

 

I plastidipped, then painted over it with toyota metallic light blue with 3 coats of clear on all emblems. This way it's removable if it gets chipped or I don't like it.
Color scheme matches my custom trd decals. Probably gonna paint my coilover springs and UCAs to match.

 

Got quoted $50 to sandblast the rear bumper and powder coat

 

I took mine by the body shop I've used in the past and they wouldn't even quote me. I suppose it has something to do with painting over chrome. Fuckit... I'm not scared

I haven't looked but do they make a aftermarket light with a clear lens for the first gen?

 

I think I've seen one aftermarket style that is clear

 

If there is enough "surround" it might be worth your time to try it. Really just depends on the style and how you think it would look painted.
