Sorry guys. Should have been more clear. I'm a certified NRA instructor but shooting is just one of many hobbies for me. Might turn it into a profession when I retire and open a gunshop/range with a buddy on the mainland. Intent of my post was to offer required certification documentation for handgun permits to acquire as a favor to members, not a comprehensive course. HRS 134-2 does require a minimum of 4 hours of classroom and 2 hours on the range for the certification and that is exactly what I'd include. The live fire portion of my class would include only semi-auto pistols, no revolvers unless you bring your own. If you are a beginner and want to learn from scratch, I can do that 1 on 1.

Active Duty don't need the class, just a memo signed by your CO (PM me with your email addy for a sample copy). My copy is Navy format but you can easily modify for other services.

Half a day on a weekend day. Cost dependent on level of instruction and if you bring your own pistol and ammo. Full NRA course would be about $140-150 with NRA student materials but I can do a short course with your own gun/ammo for a fraction of that.

I'm an independent NRA instructor qualified as a RSO and current in CPR. This is just one of many hobbies for me. I've been shooting all my life and do hold expert pistol and rifle quals with the Navy.

Sorry, don't teach the hunter's class, only basic pistol. I haven't looked into DLNR instructor certification requirements for that course.

I don't have the rifle/shotgun course materials on hand but I can order them. These NRA courses are geared towards those with little to no experience.

Best home defense weapon, in my opinion, is a 12 gauge pump with an 18" barrel. Mine is swing loaded with alternating birdshot and buckshot. Racking the first round should do the trick (like you see in the movies). If not, the birdshot will stun and stop most men without going through walls endangering others. If neither of those work, the buckshot will blow a large hole in whoever/whatever is assaulting you and positively stop the threat. .40 S&W with self defense ammo is also very effective but requires significantly more confidence, skill, and proficiency under intense pressure. There are countless stories about people emptying magazines on an intruder without a single hit.

Yeah I saw that. When I saw that for the first time I was hoping they'd show the chick on the roof go with the Jeep when the water rushed out.

I don't understand what they expected to happen with a pallet ramp and a shitty pool

if you pause it...even if the ramp didn't break, it's like a solid foot too short- it doesnt even clear the pool

I rather like my LR UCA's, I ordered the new spec-ride bushings and also replaced the ball joints before installing. no issues for me.

you bastid! I'm rather happy, I slept for almost 10 hours today...I feel like a vampire now...the drive home with the sun coming up hurts my eyes to much haha

cool info. I might be in for a class.

I'm on my second.. had a '99 when I first joined. Back then the oahu thread wasn't as busy. Glad yall came around and made things more lively... but also made me more broke.... not a tons of mods to my '99... no lift and all that stuff... hopped on my co-workers DC when kids were being discussed ( and I was ribbing out of room with my XC).

I have a 12 and a .40 for home defense.. i should work on my aim with the Handgun.. my wife grew up shooting, so she would probably grab the handgun and I would go for the 12.... lol..

Yeah...my first was a 98 Pre-Runner followed by the 1st year T100 4WD. There was no forum back then, so thankfully I didn't go broke modding cause I didn't know better...lol Unfortunately, with the internet and forums like this we are driven to modding by seeing other peoples work and desire:eek: It's not that I need all this stuff, but Damn!...it sure looks nice when it's on it...lol

And modding is a guy thing mostly...we like toys cause we are all kids deep down...:)

Probably goes into the off topic forums and posts "LOL" or "That looks nice!" in every post.
