You'd be better off getting a line output converter instead of looking for an amp that has one built in. Then if you want to add multiple amps you don't have to have +/- wires running to each one. My amp has the line in converter built in and I used it because when I add a bigger system I'll be adding an aftermarket head unit as well.

a decent stereo in a truck sounds awesome. Too bad Toyota uses washers for their speakers.

Got it, thanks. After I was about 18 years old I've always done it the right way with no amp in the head unit. That was 27 years ago..ugh. When I put the first real stereo in a car (VW BUG) the stereo shop owner showed me how to tap into the low-level circuit before the amp stage, but I digress..

coffeesnob, I built a speaker when I was 10 (because my Dad said I couldn't do it) from scratch that sounded better played through my transistor radio than the overhead ones do currently. The fronts sound like..well you know.

It doesn't need to blast me out of the vehicle anymore, just needs to sound accurate.

Do you guys think I should post this question in the Audio/Video forum? I didn't see it before.

If I could afford it, I'd rip the entire system out and start fresh. All one brand, speakers, amps, and subs. Oh well. Too broke for that! I have about $130 in my "system" right now and it sounds decent. Going to save up for a touchscreen HU and see how that changes the quality of the speakers.
