Hey, I'm looking for a good Moderately priced 7.1 Headset with mic of course. But I'm wondering if they have one that will work with both the XBOX One and a PC. Both my console and PC have the Optical ports available for use. Do they have something that will plug into an optical port and then transmit wireless to the head set?

 

These are the ones that I've got. I bought 2 sets and I'm in love with them. They are not wireless but I personally didn't want wireless. If you can live with the wires then I haven't seen (or tired) many that come close.

What kind of length you got on the wires? My PC Sits right next to me but my XBOX One sits across the room. I currently have a logitech H800 wireless headset for my PC. It only has stereo functionality which is rapidly becoming a disappointment but the wireless part is great because I have a small apartment. I can pretty much go anywhere in my apartment and not loose signal keeping me in on conversations when I have to step away from the game. Keeps me from having to say OK I'm back what did I miss? Also how does the headset connect to the Xbox one?

 

I need a headset for Destiny but I also need to pay for psn

 

Both connect to the consoles optically. As far as the length... I honestly can't remember. I've got about 10 miles of cable hidden behind the the desks

I've got a Logitech G930 for my PC and since I use vent it is nice to be able to walk away and still be able to talk. The consoles aren't as big of a deal since I won't be running raids and if I am it will be in Destiny and The Division.

 

I almost bought the G930 but I was only in the market for a new headset because my second logitech headset had broken right after the freaking warranty had ended. So I wasn't ready to give them that much more money after I felt like I got burned twice. The H800 was kind of a compromise and even with it I can feel how flimsy the head strap was made. I want a new 7.1 headset because for some reason the XBOX One wont recognize my TV and surround sound system as having 5.1. Also as stated previously I live in an apartment so I don't want to piss the people off next to and above me. I'm also trying to plan ahead for when the division comes out.

Out of curiosity what is "vent"?

 

Ventrilo Basically use it for raids in MMO's so everyone can talk to each other. It's a VOIP service.

I'll have to look at my settings on the Xbox. I remember it was a fucking pain in the ass and not the least bit intuitive at all. Originally the Xbox didn't ship with Optical Surround. It was added later in a update. I'll try to go through my settings later since I finally got it working. It works great now.

 

I don't believe that its an issue with the Xbox One. I have a Samsung TV and a Samsung Blue Ray / Surround Sound Combo and for some reason the only time it ever works in 5.1 is when I'm playing a blue ray disc. I have the optical line running from my TV to the only optical in port on the Blue ray box but regardless of all the settings I've messed with, it only ever works in 2.1

 

So Craig. Your wireless headset works for your systems as well? Audio and voice?

 

No... I don't use the Logitech for the Consoles. Just the gaming PC. Consoles I didn't really need a wireless headset for but the PC I did. If we were in the middle of a 5-6 hour raid then it's nice to be able to get up and move around while still keeping up with everyone else in the raid.

Consoles don't need that. The sound quality is pretty damn good on the Logitech but the Turtle Beach Sevens... Fuckin awesome.

Even though not console talk, figured this would be a good as place as any to ask. I'm having trouble with my pc doing a bsod only on Bungie destiny character page. Video card is up to date and i updated bios. Keep getting error 0x0000003b which there is a hot fix for but when i tried it, it said not applicable. Running an amd 7850, gigabyte z77-ds3h motherboard, 8gb ram.

Any ideas?

Wednesday? I may Tuesday! Think I'm going to go try some headsets out tonight, looking right now at the p12. Is about as high as my price range is right now.
