No luck with Toyota honoring rear leaf TSB...

I talked with Toyota directly on the phone after complaining about the usual harsh ride with a moderate load in the bed, etc. Acted like I didn't know anything about the TSB and they said that the problem I am describing needed to be evaluated at dealership. I told them that I had read all about this problem on Tacoma World and then mentioned the TSB. She said the TSB didn't apply to 2009 and 2010 because they fixed the problem and there had to be something wrong with my truck other than the problem identified in the TSB. So I stopped playing dumb and I told her that the part #s for the right and left rear leafpacks on my truck matched those part #s listed on the TSB. She still wouldn't help and kept insisting that this problem had been fixed for 2009 models and up.

So, my experience dealing with Toyota can go in the pile with those who also had negative experiences dealing with the TSB. I am still going to go to the local Toyota service department and state my case but I had hoped that Toyota would have been more helpful as others have stated that they contacted Toyota either via e-mail or called the toll free number and from there they made all the arrangements with the dealership's service dept.

Since I am planning an OME 3" lift, I called Toytec and their advice was if I was going to do their OME lift with the 2" AAL then it's a mute point to even worry about getting the TSB done. Any lift experts out there care to chime in on this?

 

Yup...with an AAL you really don't NEED the TSB springs. Have you considered a complete replacement leaf pack??

 

I have but I am trying to keep the overall cost down. So far, $700 for new tires (Nitto TG 265/70/17), $800 OME suspension lift kit (includes front spacer and shipping after TW discount, $430 for install and alignment.
