I have read some funny stories regarding the outdoors on other forums and thought we could share some here.

I have some and will share them as we go.. Anyway, here goes:

A few years ago I had a tree stand set up overlooking a well-used game trail on some of my family's land. So one morning I climb into my stand before light - and about 20 minutes or so after the sun comes up, here come a 20-something year old guy and a girl. Well, he goes in one direction and the girl keeps coming down the trail towards me and I kept thinking "what in the hell?" Anyway, not far from my tree she drops trou and starts pissing. I was going to yell out but kept didn't for some reason. So I spent the rest of the morning in the stand thinking if I should feel bad for watching her or just sit back and enjoy the image...

Another time - this one is animal related - I was in another stand and was watching a squirrel in a pine. Next thing I know, this damn hawk comes full tilt at the squirrel - who moves just in time and the hawk hit the tree and drops like 30 feet to the ground. It laid there for a while and I thought the thing was dead. Eventually it sat up and looked around flew off. I laughed myself silly over that for the rest of the morning.

Anybody got anything else? Will have to share my fishing story in a bit...

Was fishing a local lake in a rental aluminum boat. In the distance I see something floating in the water. As I get closer, I see it is moving. What the hell, it was a deer swimming from an island to the mainland. Easily a 150yd swim. Didn't know deer could swim, let alone that far.

To make matters more interesting, leopards and tigers can swim, too. There are Youtube videos of a leopard going into water and dragging out an alligator onto shore for food.

I was mountain biking with a friend out in the woods when we smelled the thick stench of death. We dropped our bikes and hiked over the top of a ridge and saw about 30 rotting deer carcasses and various other dead animals.

At first I thought it was a poachers dump site but it turned out the highway department dumped all the local road kill there.

Was hunting one morning in the mountains with our dogs and they had a bear treed below us, so we started going toward them and had to go thru a laurel thicket and I happened to look down and found someone's bill fold and looked inside it and his drivers license and everything was still in it. I knew the dude he goes to my church he said he lost it in 1992 and I found it haha. Money was still in it and everything it was awesome

I was squirrel hunting once and seen a goat lying down. First I thought it was dead, but then I noticed it's stomach moving. So I threw a rock at it and two opossums crawled out of it. I killed them just because.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
As a teenager we would drive up to the mountains late at night, 10 miles from home. We came around a turn up on mountain dirt road and there was a cow elk giving birth right in the middle of the road. We stopped and watched her give birth, as soon as she popped it out, she walked of the road and a couple minutes later the calf stood up and walked over to her. Then we drove off, whole thing lasted half an hour. My buddies were joking that we should've grabbed it and raised it on the ranch, idiots!

I didn't actually see anything, but it was still really weird/creepy.

The woman (Niki) and I were camping at a campground about 45 minutes up the hill from us last year towards the end of autumn. We were the only two people at the campground except for the camp host/owner who lived in a little trailer at the entrance to the campground. There was no one else there because it was getting below freezing at night.

The second night we were there, Niki wakes me up because she hears what sounds like screaming. By the time she gets me to wake up the screaming has stopped. I told her it was probably an animal of some kind getting killed by a predator. There's rabbits/foxes/deer/etc. in the woods around the campground.

As we are starting to fall back surrounding our site that have fallen off the trees in the campground. It was pitch black outside and about 230-300 in the morning. Whatever was walking through the leaves was a biped, we could tell by the sound. Keep in mind we were the only people staying there; also I don't think the camp host was walking around because there were no lights of any kind....

Here is something that happened not too long ago. We went to visit my cousin up in West Virginia. Now I am at home in the woods and very comfortable being there by myself.

So we are out checking out his hunting land...marking new spots and all. We park the truck and get out to go check a new spot this one section of property. I bring my backpack and stuff in it, but leave the pistol in the truck. We are walking along and come up on this area with a hardwood bottom, half briars, half trees, and about the size of a football field. I am thinking to myself....yeah, there's probably gonna be something in here. Kept going and getting closer and closer to this bottom. Well, we get to the end of the tract and hear some shit rummaging around near the bottom. Turn and walk back through it, and as soon as we get in (couldn't see through it because of briars), I hear something walking away towards a site that we hadn't made it to yet. Whatever, figured it was a squirrel or something. Make it through and then hear whatever it was go back to where we just walked through. Once we get to the next stand site, we hear something that sounded like wet hardwood sticks banging on a hardwood tree. This was predominately planted pines, with that little section being hardwoods.

Sitting at the end of the row and I turn back around thinking...that was weird as fuck, but whatever. We make it within probably 200 yds of the hardwood bottom and hear the stick banging on a tree noise again. Now I am thinking something funny is going on. No wind blowing that would cause the trees to move. Make it to the beginning of the bottom, and I hear something running off towards the end of the rows where I am walking. There was a food plot back there that hadn't been touched in five years. Get to the end, and hear whatever it was circling around, but going away from where we were.

So we walk back, get through the bottom, and hear a stick being hit REALLY hard on a tree behind us. I get down on the ground to look around, and see nothing for the three or four minutes I am kneeling down. Turn around and just keep keeping on doing what we are supposed to be doing.

This time though, whatever it was is now running around, paralleling us as we walk down the row. It was basically leap-frogging us fast as fuck. One second it would be behind us, and just as quickly it would be in front of us and not moving. I could hear it running behind us, but couldn't see anything. I know something was running, and it wasn't us, because we would stop occasionally and could hear it walking for a couple of seconds after we stopped. I got down on the ground again looking for something, and didn't see a damn thing.

So we are fully freaked out at this point, so we walk back to my truck to get the pistol and continue doing the damn thing. We had to walk through a pretty thick area of briars to get back to the truck, and when we get all of the way back, I can see the tops of the briars moving about 30 yards away, but can't see in because they are very thick.

We got in the truck and decided to mow down all of the briars at that point. Do it, and see nothing, so we continue doing what we are doing. Walk down the next row, and when we get a couple of hundred yards in, we hear the same running around and stick banging, but this time, I catch a piece of a stick flying through the air out of the corner of my eye.

I got down on the ground another time, and didn't anything again. At that point,we high-tailed it back to the truck. Only had a couple more sites to check, and there was a wide 4-wheeler trail signifying the edge of that plot. Get to the truck, decompress for a second, and drive down the 4 wheeler trail. Didn't see or hear a damn thing. We just looked for spots, ran out and marked them, and jumped back in the truck. Pull forward, look, jump out, mark, and continued until I was done.

My cousin's wife is one of those squatch, ghost-believing type of people, and we told her about it when we got back to his house. Immediately she said it was a squatch. I have no idea what it was, but I do know there weren't any people for about three miles in either direction. There was one way in, and we were on it. Nobody was around there. There were man-sized trails through some of the briar patches, but I figured at the time it was from deer. Looking back, I dunno. I have run up on some weird shit in the woods, but that freaked me out for a couple of days after it happened
