I was wondering if anyone has upgraded their 2005 to 2011 Taco Steering Wheel to the newer 2013-2014 series. Or is it even possible.

I would like to upgrade mine.

I can see this as being possible, but how about steering controls and all that good stuff? I'm assuming as long as you find a steering wheel that has the same controls as yours it'll work, or is the wiring different?

I am sure a newer steering wheel will bolt on. My main concern was the air bag. The controls for the radio and cruise control would be the next concern.

I will research this soon. Hopefully, a knowledgable TACO someone will see this thread and rescue us.

If you are willing to put that kind of work in (For all I know it could be simple) Don't bother with the Tacoma wheel, and just get the 4Runner Trail Edition one.

I changed my '14 Tacoma steering wheel controls from the silver look, to the '14 4Runner Trail Edition piano black parts, and love the new look.

here's my thread on it. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...t-finished-unusual-mod-my-14-base-tacoma.html

I did a little research into the cost of a newer style taco steering wheel and the cost from the stealership is cost prohibitive. The only practical way would be a purchase from a salvage yard.

The Lexus LX 570 has a heated steering wheel as an option .
Trying to find a wiring schematic to see if I can get this critter fitted for the Tacoma wheel but it looks like the heating element is covering the steering wheel at the 3 and 9 pm location . My quest continues .[IMG]
