Nothing protecting mine, I've had it mounted since may. Very happy with the output, no chips so far Although I've collected a few bugs

 

What size are y'all using in the lower grille? 30"?

22" but I hear that the 30" fits nicely.

 

Rigid makes a 28" too.

 

I had a strip of vinyl put on for that very reason - but it's not thick laminex. Just 2 strips of regular transparent vinyl.

This reminds me, I'm going to start a gallery of all the crap my satoshi collects. Leaves, insects, mini-pterodactyls... it's amazing.

 

my current setup. The 10 watt leds in the roof bar are all spot and very bright.

 

Has anyone had any luck with any of the cheaper Cree LED light bars off of Amazon? I want to do a 30" LED light bar behind the bumper without spending a ton of money.

My brother purchased a cheapy Amazon light bar for his F350 and the light output is surprisingly impressive for the price.

 

Get whatever you want/. Most of the money on these is in the initial R&D, plus the Warranty. When they cheap ones have an issue, like fogging up or water penetration, or shorting and discoloration - most of the time you are hosed and they don't stand by their product.


I know lots of people that have had good results with them. In my case, I have a family of 6 including me. I like to know the gear I invest in is reliable, and will work when I need it to. if it doesn't, I can rest assured that the product is backed by a reputable company that will do whatever they can to resolve the issue.

I have had only 1 issue with my Rigid Industries bars, that I caused. I broke a head of a bolt off and had to get a couple more. they sent me some and didn't hesitate. The only other thing, which is understandable in any hand made product. Was a little clear silicone of the optics themselves. Easily resolved, just a bit of rubbing with my thumb and all was well in the world of dark again..

Plans for myself in the future are :
another set of the 20"-SR2 (2) bars for the rack sides.
a 28"-E2 or 30"-E2 (hybrid) in yellow for the Front grill
40"-SR2 Below Front rack <- This might end up being another set of dual 20"-SR2's, angled outward like an air dam. I could remove my air dam and put these in its place to get rid of whistling
Rock Lights
Flush Mount Reverse Lights for rear bumper

Plans for some other ideas, just need to figure it out. Waiting on the response from a couple people with lighting I am interested in.

 

As I have previously mentioned in this thread...I have purchased 2 different LED bars from this EBAY place over a year ago..and had zero issues and they are super bright. You do want one with Cree...they are brighter than Epistar.

I have also seen multiple Rigid lights at truck shows with condensation in them..so they are not perfect as everyone claims them to be.

I have Rigid Industries D2s + LightForce 240s. I feel like since getting them, and using them at night it's a constant struggle between turning them on (which is amazing) but then off when oncoming traffic nears.... it's just frustrating and sometimes makes me wonder if these are really worth the investment if someone lives in a populated area.

Anyone feel similar? Or am I just goin crazy

 

You can use a SPDT relay to turn them all on with your high beams. Simply use the middle pin and connect it to the high beam switch. The other pounds are used as normal. Still able to use the switch that came with them to.

Think about it, you have to turn the high beams of when there's oncoming traffic anyways. That way there one switch you have to worry about at that point.

 

@Primo. Your correct. I have seen the same thing. However, they have the option to send it in to correct the issue. Most people are too lazy to take the lights off though.

My lightbar has replaced my high beams.

 

Same here, But still, whats more elegant than a single throw of a factory switch to toggle between the on and off?
