Yeah I plan on buying 4 or 5 cans of fluid film and spraying my new frame when it gets done.. Add some more protection to it...

LineX can chip and come off like any other paint. Might as well save money and weight by going with some black rustoleum that you can touch up

Yea I thought of doing that as well, but just don't have the money for it now... But would be nice to have... I do think though before I fluid film it I will spray it with something like the chassis saver stuff...

    How long?
I had my '08 done on Friday. Inspected, sprayed and ready to go home within 3 hours!
(8 am to 11 am). Am I missing something. Service writer said it doesn't take long. Said to park on the street in case of dripping. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

Seems a little to quick. Wonder if they prepped anything before spraying.

I took mine in on Friday, and got the phonecall Saturday to come pick it up. Took 24 hours for application. I haven't had any dripping either, but it's still kind of tacky to touch. Looks good though. I was under there two days before I got the letter, greasing the driveshafts, and thinking I'm going to have to wire brush and get some POR15. Free, with someone else doing the labor is something I can live with.:D

So is this CRC similar in consistency to Fluid Film or Krown? Is it supposed to harden or is it supposed to be oily, tacky as Fluid FIlm and Krown. Is it one time application or is it going to wear off after a season or two as Fluid Film does etc. Does anyone know?

Got Krown sprayed on in June and it was dripping for a week. It is still tacky and is supposed to wear off in a year or so...Just wondering how it compares to Toyota's CRC.

This stuff hardens on, and provides what they call a "permanent" solution to the problem. It's pretty thick, so I don't see it chipping off after a couple seasons, I think it's a good solution.

Just got the call from Toyota and my frame failed. They are ordering a new frame and correlating parts today which will take about 2 months to deliver.

It's still good enough to drive though, so I'm picking it up today!

Took my 2007 Tacoma in 2 1/2 weeks ago for inspection. Went to pick it up 2 days later and was told 2 weeks for a new frame. I called the service center and they informed me the replacement frame may take another 2 to 3 weeks. Said it was not safe to operate. a month to 5 weeks is a long time to be without a truck. They have given me a loaner but not a truck.

Damn... Can you request another truck as a loaner?

Wish my frame was coming that quick, they told me up to 8 weeks for the frame to be delivered!

just had dealer check out my frame. they said i needed the undercoating. I told him i just Chassis Saved my frame and didnt want it done but still wanted the plugs. When he came back he said my frame looked great but since im not going to spray frame they cant put plugs in. " we cant seperate them" gave me toyotas #. called them and they said its up to dealer but since im not getting overspray done i get no plugs...

I posted this link in another thread Pdf's are in the second post.

It's a .pdf the dealer uses for a Tundra CRC, looks very comprehensive, not a 3 hour job. I guess the Tacoma should be the same if done correctly. Maybe ask the dealer for a .pdf for the Tacoma.

I talked to the dealer today about my '06 DBL cab.... He said they "do not install any plugs...they will do their BEST to remove my "Corrosion Free" product (my warranty now void).. and any flaky rust and then apply their crap to my frame..." "In and out in 4 hours"... (Sounds like they do NOT really clean the frame to the metal......) The guy said " we try to clean the frame as best we can using soap and water)...!!!!! YIKES..!!! (Soap and water does NOT remove rust)...

I cannot believe that they will do me any favours by doing this.....

I'm going to take it in for inspection....if no perforation (which there won't be because I've Corrosion Free'd the Taco since new (6 times)... and they want to put their crap on it I'll give them the finger.... "see ya later Totota"....

The crap that they put on flakes and cracks within 1 year... water gets in behind it and guess what.... RUST CITY...!!!

Will update you guys shortly.... Dealer gets to look at it next week...
