Just gonna drop this link here... :spy: rear disc w/ e-brake

I talked to the company a while back, they confirmed that this will work with 1st gens. I don't have the email they sent me with the specific differences we'd need to handle for our trucks, but I think it was basically just send them the measurements for the cables and that was about it.

Yeah, I'm sure incorporating the e-brake bracket into a disc caliper isn't an easy or cheap thing to manufacture. I wish there were a logical way to add a t-case parking brake on 1st gens...

from what ive read, the problem is clearance between the tcase and the cab of the truck. i wonder if someone with a body lift could fit a tcase brake?

I've seen some inchworm transfer case have an e-brake. But I don't know if the tacoma TC is the same as inchworms. I'll look for the link. is this what you mean Jace?

Yeah Jace not trying to clutter you build page. I understand you don't have the lefty inchworm. It's the idea of adding the disc and brakes to your existing transfer case but hey you know a lot more about this stuff then I. I just remember seeing an e-brake placed on an transfer case that's all and that's what you mention in your other post. Anyways glad I was able to make the night run with you guys those pics are badass. Did you see the moose pic he posted. Sweet!

ur not cluttering man, good conversation.... but im betting the lefty case is shaped differently on top allowing for a brake to be mounted

Just reading this page of your build... how do I know if the front to rear braking ratio is proper after installing my lift?

I only have the Dakars in the rear with shock shackle length. No AAL added.

I added the BAMF BPV bracket and have it adjusted so that the horizontal cable that runs atop the axle is still parallel to the axle (like it was before the lift).

My braking feels much different now though. I don't feel as though the front discs are handling most the duty of stopping and I feel as though my stopping power is lessened.

And I do not have those fancy pressure gauge things that the FSM calls for when checking brakes.

    tl;dr Any advice?

how does ur ebrake hold the truck? how many clicks does it take to pull til it holds?

The e-brake holds my truck better than ever since the lift.

And I forget the number of clicks but it is in the range per the FSM.

Just curious, what's your thought process asking those questions diagnosing if my front brakes are receiving enough load?

    Thanks, man.

id say 90% of taco owners rear brakes are out of adjustment, this causes the fronts to work extra hard... just a few questions that came to mind.

i don't get your question tho exactly... u said u dont feel like ur front brakes are working as great?

When we took the stock rear brake line off to put in the extended one, not a single drop of brake fluid dripped out of the line or out of the BPV thingamabobby. The rear brake line was bone dry.

Pretty sure my front brakes were working extremely extra hard for years.

so ive doing alot of of research and cross referencing part numbers and blah blah blah.... kinda seems like i may be a guinea pig for this one tho. poly urethane lower control arm bushings. after talking with Kevin at toytec, he showed me and b.s.ed about his new poly lca bushings and how smooth the front travel and how tight the suspension felt.

    http://www.whitelinesuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=W53377A

after talking with whiteline, they dont list lca bushings for the taco.... but they do offer it for the 3rd gen 4runner. i triple checked the part numbers through work. 3rd gen runner and 1st gen taco lca bushings are the same part numbers, same arms as well... Whiteline told me, if i find out they work for the taco, they will start listing it for the taco..... so.... ordered:D

IF they do work.... they will be a sweet addition with some shiny new coilovers before moab hopefully
