My brothers dog loves SUP he kicks back on the nose and jumps off when he feels like a swim then climbs back on, Not bad for a 70 pound dog.

Sounds like you were on a narrow board maybe 30"? If so your doomed to fail especially if you have no surf skill. Try a 35 next time or if thats what u were on then theres really no hope for ya.

I was on a Yolo Original 12' to start with...switched to a Bote 10.5' and I was mostly fine the rest of the day...a bit slower than the Yolo plus my buddy is super seasoned so he has his paddle stroke down etc...I was having trouble keeping up

    Hammocks are the best!

I stay away from there because this site already empties my wallet..

On another note I bought a warbonet hammock and love it! Got the one with out a bug net, definately worth the money and the couple that makes them got it to me pretty fast.

    Yup!

At the same time you dont have to break the bank to get good gear. Especially for weekend warriors and keyboard commandos (not that I'm saying you're either of those) but most people will get by comfortably with out buying top of the line mountaineering hear.

Go back to you to the overland thread with all the other RTT wimps :p :D

Holy Jeebus this thread jumped overnight...

X2. There's nothing as quiet as the woods in winter right before a big storm. Even the birds are silent.

The original Leatherman PST has been my EDC for 15 years. I used to carry a Gerber pocketknife for years, but I switched to a Buck Impulse a couple of years ago and I haven't looked back. It holds an edge much better than the Gerber.
Plus in the truck I've got my spare Leatherman (sidekick), a Swiss Army Champ, and a Mora Classic #2 in my GHB.

    Lol...
I'm still using Ye Olde Coleman Single Burner :anonymous:

LOVE canoe/kayak camping. I did the Allagash Wilderness right after high school. I want to do it again, But I haven't been able to wrangle two weeks off in a row.

Never tried SUP, and to be honest I kinda don't really "get it." I can see the physical demands being good for exercise, but that can't be the only draw. I'd rather kayak  So rad to see his dog getting his kicks in, too. Our dog isn't that mellow.

Ye Olde Coleman Single Burner's don't break very often. I have an Old As Shat Single Burner that has no manufacturer stampings except Made in England that looks like it's from the 1970s, and when I found it in the garage on accident I tossed it onto a half used iso can and it works like a charm. It didn't even throw a giant fireball at me from a nicked or damaged O-ring or anything! :D

Good thing I didn't bother checking, and thankfully I still have my hair and eyeballs. I wish I could identify the stove, but so far no go.

 On my list. Is it just picked up as in your possession? Do let us know what you think of it with some use, we like pictures too. ;)

Pretty sure Beavis has a GB, only other person I've noticed mentioning them on this forum so far. Have you heard of BushcraftUSA.com? You might enjoy it.

Yes, in my grubby paws. I found a stocking retailer, no online waiting & hoping they had inventory. I've been watching online retailers but sites like Amazon only have them occasionally and they seem to be running 150% of MSRP lately. I compared it to the hunters axe but the polished poll and ribbed handle didn't seem to be worth the extra $30 the hunters axe cost.

Yeah, mine's at least new enough to be a dual fuel model, so if I run out of white gas I can feed it regular unleaded if I have to.
