Its pretty much a non response. I called him after reading it and asked the same thing "what does that mean". Supposedly Rough Country told him that a 6" lift can occasionally stretch the abs line, triggering unwanted activation. BUT he also said if that was the case my abs light would be on. He also said the abs sensors have caused this problem if they are not fully seated. Also would cause abs light to come on, which isn't happening. According to Rough Country the only other known issue is that this can happen if the truck is out of alignment...seems bogus to me, even though my steering is slightly off center. Today I drove about 60 miles with my TRAC, VSC and RSCA all turned "off" via the dash switches. Still had one occurrence in a curve that had a dip in it where the front wheel locked up and abs started to surge.

One thing Im wondering about after doing some reading on a Tundra forum today is shimming the yaw sensor to make it think the front end is at the factory angle. Here is a link.... seems like it could be something

I used the pdf on page 1 today to try and set the zero point of my sensor. If it works its stupidly simple. I think I got it right...I bent a paperclip, stuck it into the designated pins on the OBD2 scan point and turned the ignition on with the wheel straight, gear shift in neutral and let it work its magic. It only took about 3 seconds for the VSC light to start blinking.

The VSC can definitely be triggered by a bad alignment

Is it that simple to do it yourself? Keep us informed if this works.

I think I have two different things going on here. Alignment slightly off, and yaw sensor needed to have zero point reset aster having front end components changed. Im going to need a new alignment done, and after that I will need to zero the yaw sensor again. If this doesn't cure my problem entirely Im going to try and shim the yaw sensor down. Anyone know where its located on the Tacomas?

Yeah. you gotta take the jumper wire and short across the #4 and #12 pins on the OBD2 port 4 times or more in 8 seconds. That will erase the current 0 point saved in the ECU. When it is erased the VSC light comes on throwing a DTC code. Shut the ignition off, on level ground, in neutral or park short the #4 and #12 pins with a jumper. Turn the ignition on. The VSC light will start flashing after a couple of seconds. At this point the new 0 point is saved. I don't know yet that it is permanently fixed but it was easy to try.

If I had an O/R instead of a Sport I would use the abs kill switch...

You can do an ABS bypass switch on a Sport , the Landphil method works

Is that method on this thread or somewhere else on here? Is it simply tying into the ABS hot feed with a toggle switch?

That's pretty much the same concept I was thinking. Great write up on it.

Well, the zero point recalibration didn't do me a lot of good. It seems like it might be slightly less sensitive, but still locking up on pavement. Its strange, I went offroad for a while this morning, did some low speed donuts at 15-20 mph and blasted through some mud with no problems. Hit a corner on the road at 45 mph and wheels started locking up. Im gonna try landphil's abs kill switch this weekend. If I still have VSC related issues after that I'll burn the bitch down

You mentioned earlier your steering wheel was not centered.

When you did the "zero point" did you have the steering wheel straight? Or the wheels themselves straight? You need to do it with the *front wheels* set to dead-on-straight ahead.

I set the wheels straight, which is 1/2 inch right of center on the steering wheel. Im getting an alignment done again next week when I get my gears changed, and Ill try the zero point calibration again while the truck is still on the rack. For now, I pulled the ABS fuse, and have no problems at all.

Any follow up on the calibration the second time around?

No change. Had the truck on the alignment rack, wheels set dead straight, reset 0 point and no change.
