House is 45-65k a year for patrol officers

 

Well 1st gen runners were made from 84 to 88 so some were ifs just saying

Ya the "starting" of 35k is still higher than small towns away from Houston. I have a good friend working in hearne and he makes 15 bucks an hour. The difference from Bryan, CS, Gonzales and on was negligible

 

9k pay raise after 1 year is pretty good. Deer Park does pay pretty well tho

 

Ok, so from 84 to 85 were solid axles. Then from 86 to 88 were isf

 

All the cop guys I know really only make good money doing extra jobs. And then going to trooper academy after the few years and state troopers start at like 65k now or some where around that

 

Why don't you just go for Houston to get experience then transfer out? Don't take this personally Jon but this is the prob with America IMO everyone's like "oh I need a job" but no one truly wants one because something is "beneath" them. Hell if it came down to it I'd be flipping burgers for a paycheck but I'm lucky enough to have certificates that says "hey looky I can count pills yay me"

Well more than likely I'd work 2 jobs. probably work one in my field on the side

 

Actually without a degree you wouldn't be an 01. You'd be an E1, which makes considerably less money than 35k.

 

about 15k less.

 

First year enlisted pay is 19,500. Not including benefits.
