I may be in for this, I want to put another tent on my trailer, and that price would be right. Could we pick up in Oakland to save secondary shipping cost? I have a m 101 trailer that might fit a few if there is anyone in Sac that would need a pickup.

If you add up the raw cost of materials, then include business overhead and a 30% margin, you are in the right range of what they sell for... My .02

We are working out how to handle getting the tents from Oakland to everyone. If people can meet at the port the day the tents are picked up that would help, or if any one can help to get the tents from the port to a shipper.

The price is low but it's buying direct from the manufacture there is no retail seller trying to profit, I'm just trying to get a group together to buy in bulk direct from the maker. There are risks, so far I am comfortable with the seller. There are risks such as your not really buying from a company here in the US so probably not much for customer service. I will discuss with the maker how issues will be handled if anything is damaged or missing.

Not saying this is a scam but definitely be cautious, just seems a bit odd that someone with only 14 posts is already trying to set up a group buy for these tents at such a good price!

There is someone in a BCTacoma Facebook group doing this exact same group buy.....dunno what to think

I live near Oakland, I can come check the tents if that is ok, as a representative of Tacomaworld! If granted permission I can snap pictures and post it on for everyone to see!

I appreciate that, the tents are not in Oakland that is just the port they would be shipped to from China prior to being sent out to people in the group buy.

Right now what we are figuring out:

Shipping the tents from the port that is economical

Taxes or duty fees for importing

Customer service from the manufacture on any damage or defects and how they agree to handle these issues for us.

Thanks for your patients to those who are interested. I do not do this for a living and have never dealt with importing merchandise like this from overseas.

Future issues, agreeing on a color, figuring how to do payments ect.

Im not scamming anyone.... I am just new to Tacoma World, I recently had a Jeep Wrangler, 4 Door, with a Ursa Minor top which I sold to get my Truck. You can also check out my Colorado group (Link is below)... Can you post a link to the other group buy?? Maybe I am wasting my time if this is already being done. However if it is being done in Canada it could get complicated for us in the states, importing from China, to Canada, and then to the US.

Ive been on TW for a little while now and had good dealings with lots of members. I've never met Lucas yet but since we're in the same state and I'm also interested in a RTT, I'm sure we can meet up (preferably for a trail run :D) so that i'll be able to vouch for him.
