What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Some radios have Automatic Noise Limiting which can cut down on the interference. Also, if you get a radio with RF gain control, you can reduce on the squelch.

Installed some Light Racing UCAs and had it aligned. Much better.

No, the install was pretty simple. Took a little effort to get the OEM balljoints out but otherwise peice of cake. I had them set the caster to 3*.

Yep still on 882s. My caster with the stock UCAs was adjusted as far as it could go and I was at 0*. It still tracked straight but RTC was the suck and it was just a little squirrly. Feels lots more stable and tracks better with much better RTC feel. Should also gain a bit of travel from them.

 

Because I put brand new mats over the old mud.

 

Mine is ridiculously clean for a 17 year old truck. I'll take pics. The original owner really took care of it. Well, it was filthy inside but I had it detailed But as for condition - A#1.

 

To make a long story short:
I work behind the counter at a napa. Yesterday I was using our lift to change my o2 sensors and when I got to the second sensor (upstream) both studs started to strip out so I quit and was gonna bring back a torch in the morning and let them soak in pb blaster over night.
So this morning, a mechanic that works in the shop took it upon himself (even though I had specifically told him not to mess with my truck at all) to break the damn stud off in the bung. And yes, I did give him a good ass chewing over that.
I leave for college day after tomorrow so I don't have time to wait for parts to come in so my temporary solution is to replace the stud that isn't broken off and just hose clamp the other one until I can get a new flange..
My question is how big of a deal will it be to replace that flange? And what all will I need as far as new exhaust studs (not o2 sensor studs, I have those) and gaskets are concerned?

Can I improve my chassis ground by simply running a heavy gauge wire from my frame to my battery negative?

 

Yes, that's one out of the 3 upgraded wires for the "big 3" mod. Cleaning the connection points to bare steel again helps too.
