I'm not a native Kentuckian but have been in KY for years now. Kentuckians are pretty darn friendly.

Best response in the entire thread!

Seriously though, I just take their jabs at my Toyota with a grain of salt. I also laugh at them when I drive by the gas station while they pump an entire paycheck into their tank. Then tell them I will see them later when they come to the shop for repairs. lol. But seriously, Haters will be haters, no matter what. They grew up that way and will never change. We have the same thing here for the most part as people here bash all the other brands.

my dad, 2 brothers, a brother n law, and an uncle all worked for GM back in the day...If you drove a foreign car you were thought of as unAmerican. They didn't even care much for ford or chrysler. But I guess if I made the kind of money they made with the benefits they had I would have been the same way. GM was THEE golden goose back in the 60,s 70,s and early 80's especially if you were in one of the unions.

Seriously, some of you guys get shit whipped on you for driving a Toyota? I've driven a Japanese (Acura, Honda, Toyota) car or truck for the last 25 years and no one has ever said anything remotely derogatory to me about it. In fact, if they did I think I would just repeat what I just said above. Not counting my wife's cars - in the past 25 years I've only owned three vehicles that were my personal everyday drivers - a 1990 Acura Integra, a 2002 Honda Civic, and my 2010 Tacoma. Still own the Civic and the Tacoma - Tacoma is my everyday driver and my oldest son drives the Civic. Heck, I only got rid of the Acura at 140K miles because a school bus backed into it - prior to that it was still running great. I've had pretty good luck with Japanese cars. I know that there are some very well made domestic cars and I would not rule out ever owning one - but if someone made a crack about my Tacoma being foreign, rice burner, etc... I'm pretty sure I would think back on the three vehicles I have personally driven over the past 25 years, smile, mentally thank God I have a superior intellect than this person, and then go about my business. Like the song says - if they don't want to know, forget 'em.
