    a few questions first tho.

1- is it really hard to oil and clean it and how often should i do it to avoid that MAF problem people have?
2-will this make my flowmaster or engine sound better?
    3- any gains?

    thanx guys :)

    1) the prob is if u over oil it when u do clean it...has nothing to do w/ the frequency of the cleanings
    2) no
    3) minimal

An exhaust is only gonna give you about 3 to 5 hp. An air filter is going to give you maybe 1.

I had a K&N on my 96 along with the deckplate mod. It was a bit peppier (throttle response) and helped with gas mileage just a bit (stock exhaust).

Currently, I have a Flowmaster exhaust and an AFE air filter-no secondary filter. Maybe a little better throttle response but not nearly the same as K&N. No noticable change in gas mileage. Sound with stock filter? I dunno....and I'm not putting the stock exhaust back in to find out.

Don't over-oil it. Oil it only when its totally dry.
Clean it regularly depending on the conditions, could be once a year or every 6 months.
