Suggestions: Shocks to Pair with TSB Springs

Hi -

My dealer, Beaverton, is in the process of installing the TSB spec rear springs on my SR5 DC LB as I write. However, because I'm not under the TSB, they won't do the shocks as well.

Do you have any suggestions on what to put in the rear?

What's wrong with the original shocks?

 

I was making the assumption that the new spring rate and the old shock rates weren't going to be very compatible. Am I wrong?

 

You could keep the stock ones on now. I would suggest OME (Old man emu) shocks for all four corners.

There's really no such thing as pairing shocks with springs for a daily driver, daily usage pickup truck. You can put whatever shock on that you wish. It's not that critical.

I have a TRD Sport and I got the TSB springs. They never changed my shocks.

The fact that you're getting the TSB springs will make a world of a difference in how it handles regardless of changing shocks or not. Don't waste your money on new shocks unless you want new shocks. If Toyota pays for them....then YES! But otherwise, keep your money for other mods!

 

How much you paying for the pair b.t.w. Brandob9? I'm considering the 4pack setup.

 

the springs are the biggest difference. the bilsteins shocks are more for off road applications but not needed. the springs will probably raise the back end a inch to inch and a half. i went with the bilstein adjustable 5100's up front to level the truck back up.
