    Mine will be going on a chrome grill surround because I can't figure a good enough reason to sand and paint perfectly good chrome. And I don't want to spend money on a color match.

    Take your time. I did not and the plastic surround is uneven. I am going to fix with weather sealer strip. And watch out for the locking tabs on the surround, they break for like no reason.
