I've had the same Pioneer AVIC F700BT for 7 years, through 3 different vehicles. It's so easy to work with, has all the major functions I need everyday, and it refuses to give up!

Yeah, I had a pioneer deck I moved through 3 or 4 vehicles. They just refuse to die. Also they have the most intuitive interface and buttons.

Well, the age old saying: "If you want something done right, do it yourself."

Where do you guys & gals take your truck to get em straightened out after a run or for a deep cleaning?

After the mega road trip, the tacoma was a little dirty, and when I say "a little" it means filthy. From a road-grime/silt/salt covered undercarriage, to nearly welded on bug carcasses/guts with the radiator chocked full of more carcasses (still runs cold when its 105F outside)...its a hot mess.

Last time I took it to the self wash, I got yelled out for destroying a stall with mud and rocks after a rain-soaked trip though San Diego/Imperial counties. Its damn hot, and washing it myself just doesn't sound like a well spent afternoon, so decided to go to the usual place here in Redlands to get it done.

Explicitly told them "its a really big mess, how much to get it cleaned?" They said under carriage wash, and the guys will take care of the rest since I am "regular". Well truck came out and it looked like it had been sprayed down with a garden hose...so disappoint, son.

Rather than climb around on my knees or on a lift/pit to spray it down right, or fork over >$200 for a "detail"...is there somewhere that can do it right the first time, instead of feeling like a dirty pair of jeans you just keep running through the washer over and over again hoping it comes out clean?

I clean the main components and moving parts at a DIY wash, then let the rest wash off the next time it rains. Which is once every 6 months here lol.

My high school has a drive on lift with a steam cleaner, I'll sometimes give it to the auto shop kids to earn some extra credit with my old teacher.

Aimed, yes. I installed, no. -__- we finally got them aimed and then placed some jb weld on those pivot points and gave it 20 minutes. It was still gooey. So since it wasnt hardening fast enough and we still has to jb weld the shroud on and jb weld that hex nut on the back we decided to finish them up tonight. I glued everything last night so it had plenty of time to fully dry and cure. Just got them out of the oven 15 minutes ago and finished sealing. Gonna place a bead of silicone for good measure then hook them up. But they are essentially 98% finished now.

Yeaaa...I think this is a good time to convince the Mrs to invest in a power washer. Probably going to hit up the self wash early tomorrow with roll of quarters, and also take the opportunity to give it some lovin and put on Zaino wax.

Where's Biff?? Make sure it gets TWO coats of wax.
