so i got under my truck to install my home made axle drop for the drive shaft and this is what i find..

    P1010144_1aa627c567c90f2f7374f4327d088262632a9e7d.jpg

now im assuming these are bolts that hold the transmission to the truck and prevent it from shaking and whatnot. im kinda pissed because i took it in to the dealer cause i was having crazy vibrations and i was hearing something in that area and they didnt catch that i was missing 3 bolts???

I hate to say it, but it is very tough to find decent mechanics these days. You gotta take care of a lot of stuff yourself. But, it sound like you are mechanically capable, so you should be in good share. It is pretty wild that the dealer can't find something this blatant.

its not even worth your time..go to lowes with the one remining bolt in hand, and reinstall in your truck with locktite and be done with it, and have peace of mind that its done right this time.

Hmmm. That might be a little extreme, but probably would be a fun video to watch. :D

    WTF bro...that's bad...

we pay all this money and when we have a problem and want the stealership to fix it...they either give us the ring around or do a half @ss job...stuff like this really pisses me off cause had your transmission dropped it would have been really bad for you...

I would definitely go into the same stealership you took your truck last for the transmission service and give them a piece of your mind. But don't go in there all hot headed and start yelling and demanding things...go in there calm talk to a service rep but also make sure you got a manager there...let them know what happened and your very displeased...if nothing happens there I would contact toyota's corporate offices and file a formal complaing on that dealership and their ASE Technicians...

good luck bro and keep us posted...

BTW...that's the reason why I do 95% the work on the truck myself...that way I can't blame or complain when something breaks...it comes down to me and no one else...

You probably want to order the correct parts from Toyota. Not all bolts are created equal.

While I'm not have any problems, this makes me want to crawl under my truck just to check things out! I don't see how they could have missed that unless they never looked under your vehicle. I'm beginning to think that dealerships ignore the many complaints that they received regarding vibrations, squeaks, rattles, etc on vehicles. A lot of these problems can be difficult to duplicate and find, so they can be very time consuming to resolve. This particular problem that 08pretaco has is not one of them. This should have been found within the first 2 minutes of any sort of vibration troubleshoot. Like I said before, I seriously doubt that they even looked under the vehicle.
