:woot: where at? is this the one interview that you thought went really well but they didn't need anyone right away?

Saw a funny thing at the store today...tried to get a pic but couldn't
There was a lady on one of those electric cart thingys and she had a shirt on that said "ride it like you stole it" Thought it was pretty funny/ironic.

No different place. It's a bit of a drive about 40 miles each way, and it's night shift - midnight to 8 AM. Lousy hours, good money, or at least a livable wage. Job is pretty much in line with what I've done for years, so should work out fine. Hopefully I'll be able to get on a better shift quickly. Timing is kind of tough, we are in the process of packing up the house and also looking for a new place to live. It will be an interesting few weeks!

New job, new house...at least the chaos will keep life interesting! Hope you get a better shift soon - new guys have to earn that privilege sometimes - and hope the house hunting works out too.

waah, waah, waah :D Just back to one of us working slobs again... J/K Congrats Dave. I know it will make your life easier in the long run

    :worthless:

Lousy hours, but shouldn't be a bad commute with the hours, at least on the way in. Good it's something you are familiar with. Hope you wow them with your experience and get on a better shift fast and good luck packing up and finding a new place.

With the sale of the house going on, I was starting to stress about the evil dollar. The folks that are buying our house are being very difficult. They have threatened to move on twice now, and we needed this to happen. With a steady income, next time they threaten, I'm going to tell them to pound sand where the sun don't shine. We went from dealing from a disadvantage to having a position of strength. We also have retained a good real estate lawyer, and all communication is going through him now. Over the course of my life, I've bought and sold 5 houses, never had anywhere near these kinds of problems. We'll most likely end up renting for a while so we can take our time finding the right place. As far as the new job, it is pretty similar to what I'm used to. In the interview, they said they were looking for someone who was able to advance quickly, so I hope to be off the graveyard shift fairly soon. I never minded working second shift, in fact, I kind of prefer it. Third shift? not really my cup of tea. I have always had trouble sleeping during the day when I worked nights, and I know all the "tricks". As far as the commute, I'll be headed away from the New Haven area in the morning. Hopefully the worst traffic will be heading towards the city.

Lubed all moving parts on my garage door and the screw for the door opener... and re-aligned (pushed the door back to the center) the door so it closed all the way. Was too hot to do much outside today.... looking forward to cooler temps. hope your rain comes and goes quickly so maybe you can get a hike in tomorrow.

Hope the lawyer can keep the buyers in line... Black out drapes might help with the sleeping :notsure: Thankfully I never had trouble sleeping. I liked second shift as well... not as much busy body supervision around to interrupt what you were working on.

I went shopping today mostly because I just didn't want to be stuck at home  yeah, I hope to get out a little tomorrow. I don't mind a little shower once in a while but a 6 hour downpour isn't exactly going ot work with camping or taking my camera out!

Things are cooling off here rather fast - I'm sure you guys won't be far behind.

How are the other kitties doing? They missing their buddy?

    Good to keep busy....

Any word on your interview? or did I miss it?

Yeah, heavy downpours aren't good for electronic devices

I sure hope they cool off... so ready to enjoy being outside...

They seem to know she is gone.

Interview went well and he said he would hire me in a heart beat but I need to split things amicable with my current boss (they are friends)

summer hasn't been that bad - no three or more weeks in a row of 100* + days, but I much prefer 50's at night and mid-high 70's during the day....

    :(

    well, get'er done!!!! ;)

I hate not being able to take pictures!! :goingcrazy:

and I'd share my muffins but I haven't had blueberry muffins in over 4 years so I'm gonna be a pig and keep them all to myself!!!
