Ok so went to pull my brother out who got stuck wicked bad. I was in a slick hill. So before I even tried I put it in 4wl and locked the rear diff. Put a-trac on and pulled him out without spinning a tire. I put it back in 2w disengaged diff lock. Backed up. And turned around and drove out. On my way I got
Stuck. I stopped. Put in 4wh. And proceeded to drive. And then snap snap bang. And now there is a constant vibration in the truck. Even in park. Only 3k miles in the truck. So it will be covered under warranty. But what the hell happenend it's like the four wheel drive had not engaged. When it should have and ripped something apart in the transfer case.

Your next plan of attack is straight to the dealer under their warranty.

.... provided you didn't beat on the tranny's system. ;)

Most certainly didn't beat on it. Yeah I agree. It's def going to the dealer Monday. I agree. Doesn't matter how it happened. I did everything right. And it let go. Waranty all day. Even if i didn't engage correctly. Say I was spinning wheels and then threw the switch. It's till warranty??

I wouldn't mention that last part. Read the manual on engaging 4x4. Don't think it was the problem though.

No it really did vibrate in park. It was messed up. But once the beers wore off and daylight returned. Come to find out a stick jammed up inbetween the transfer case and the body causing me to hear and feel everything. Couldn't be seen until completely under the truck. Luckily that was it.

You're right on the money there. Most definitely a manufacturing defect was the cause.:p

Warranties do not cover abuse, neglect, or damage from outside sources, drunk drivers... and it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. Warranty is not a blanket insurance or coverage against anything that could possibly go wrong. It's only a guarantee against defective parts and manufacturing, as spelled out in the warranty guidelines.:)

Agreed. I never said I was drinking when I happened. Also. There most certainly was no neglect. But I tell you what. I bee wheeling since I was in diapers. And I have ne'er had a truck act this way from a stick being jammed. Let alone one that was 12in long. So under the circumstances, Of when it happened and what I was doing when it happened. IT most certainly would have been covered.

The whole point of this thread was to see if u guys had similar things happen. Not to be schooled on what I did or could have done or what will and won't be covered. I made that clear in the first thread.

My comment was directed at the guy who had no understanding of how warranties work, not at you, and not all scenarios I listed applied to this situation, obviously. That's why I quoted him.

This thread should be able to end now, unless you need help removing that stick. :D Glad it was an easy fix, and that your truck survived unscathed.:cool:
