I like this. Except the sun right in the middle. Could you process it for highlights and blend the two?

It's such a great looking spot. You got the nice soft water and an almost infinite look down the river.

It's a pretty great spot. It's rainbow falls in Hilo, HI. I just wish the pictures didn't have so much glare

If you're wearing a hat, use the hat to shield the lens. Your hand will work too. Even better is a translucent filter-but those are generally large and not worth carrying in the field.

Move your hand around to block the glare. This looks almost straight out in front and to the top.

Great shot Monte! How'd that 10-22 treat you?

thanks guys! I have two more to edit.

I liked it a LOT for the star shots. The wide angle helped pick foregrounds much better. I need on..the 10-18 is calling my name. Marc just got one and let me shoot with it a bit but the night i was going to use it for stars it rain us out all night. So that sucked. But i REALLY like the wide haha

    Nah thats too much IMO.

12mm seemed to work the best for me. even at 10 the vignetting from the lens was VERY noticeable.

that and the versitility of a 10-18/10-22 is more appealing.

St louis has no stars so not worth it to rent anything yet.
and of course im serious..haha i was the only one shooting them that trip. i love shooting them.

Until just a few mo ago, all my star shots were on a crop... They work fine, unless you have one that doesnt go above 1600 iso very well. Most of my long exp star shots are at 100-800 iso and 2.8. Only if I'm doing less then 30 seconds to get crisp milkyway shots do I shoot at high iso.
