Lower ball joints brand?

    So Ive had a popping/bang whenever I back out of my driveway and my front tires go down the curb. Anyways I looked under the truck and my lower ball joints are seeping grease but I cant find a tear although its dry rotted some. Would the bang im hearing be the lowerball joints or something else and what would be the best ball joints to get? Ive heard OEM and also moog and some say nappa so im unsure of what to get.

    I just ordered all 4 Moog ball joints from Rock Auto. I was told this was a highly recommended brand.

    If you can afford OEM go with that, I've seen worse things happen with moog replacements rather than OEM

    I just checked camelback toyota parts and its $188 for both lowers and then ~$100ish for the alignment (I need one with that right?) Im about to check rock auto

    Changing it looked fairly simple just disconnect the tie rod, the 4 bolts holding on the spindle and the castle nut. Is there anything else I need to watch for when changing them?

    Check low range off-road, they have a video on how to do it. Might as well do the tie-rods while your in there. Those you could get away with moog

    Only oem for lower ball joints. Camelback toyota is good. I get mine from toyotapartsbarn

    I have been using moog parts for 35 years without a complaint...and in my opinion, they are the NAME brand to use. Most of the US automakers used them for decades as their OEM chassis parts.

    OME 882s, OME shocks all around and OME Dakar spring packs, ARB, Warn 8000, ARE shell, Custom rear bumper w/ reciever, 5-235/80R17 Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX on FJ wheels, grey wire mod, Hi-Lift, Hellas, Red-Line hood lifters, Scion radio, sliders, Safari snorkel & LED Ditch lights on CBI mounts.
    x2 - Having just performed this Preventative Maintenance (PM).
    No alignment is necessary.
    OEM - read more threads on this component and you will want to spend the few extra $$ for the OEM pieces.

    Are the MOOG balljoints greaseable? We just changed out $300 of drag links and tie rods on the Jeep JK and replaced them with greaseable MOOG components.
