Getting mine switched out Tuesday. The dealership tried feed me a bunch of crap and I just showed them the print out of the warranty. The service guy acted like he was never informed, but none the less, they're honoring it. Just have to be persistent.

If any dealer gives you an issue or won't do both lights ( even if just one is damaged) call the number on the letter.

This warranty policy is not allowed in Canada even though our VINS are in the range.

And not allowed even though DTRL are mandatory in Canada and optional in the USA.

Talking to Toyota Canada about this is an exercise in futility. Both of my DTRL are bubbled and cracked.

They won't even consider it as good will.

Yes, I had a very frustrating experience with Toyota Canada. VIN or no VIN, we are not covered!

Yes I went to the dealer about mine the day after I bought my truck, they told me tfb, I even sighted it was a safety concern they still didn't care, what I've come to learn from toyota Canada is most of the recalls in the us have no affect on them and they will not make good on them, rusty frames being the exception

It's not a recall it's a warranty extension which should not matter which country the truck is in

Apparently it does sunrise toyota in Abbotsford told me to get stuffed basically and that I could buy new ones and they'd install them for some crazy amount of money, basically I've just been lazy I was going to buy some depo lights and just add some extra sealant, but ya I wouldn't hold my breath for toyota Canada to make good on warranty extensions from the US

Hell yeah, Scheduled to drop my truck off next Tuesday for this. The first time I mentioned the dtrl problem they said I was out of the 3/36 warranty and nothing they could do. Called today after reading this and they said no problem bring it in. I was just complaining yesterday that the main headlight housing was developing a hairline crack right down the middle, guess this solves all the problems.

It's not a recall and I don't really see how it's a safety concern. More just an appearance issue.

In BC it's mandatory and law that all vehicles newer than 1990 must have drls if they're melting and cracking it makes me vulnerable to vehicle inspections, which I would fail automatically with cracked and melting headlights and would be on the hook for the costs of inspection and replacement of the headlights when tacomas 10 minutes down the road in the U.S. are having theirs replaced for free, but because of the laws here the rcmp would call it a safety issue and give me tickets and inspections because of it, so far that hasn't been the case but all I'm saying is its not right, and toyota Canada needs to step up

I agree, it is BS. I asked that a supervisor from Toyota Canada call me back. That request was refused!

    Poor customer service.

Just got my lights changed at the local dealer, no problems. Told them the problem, they ordered the parts and changed them the same week. FYI, I did not buy this truck from the either.

Hey just a heads up for the East Tx guys, Classic Toyota in Tyler is accepting the warranty work. I have 90k + miles on my Tacoma and they never batted an eye when I went up there with the extended warranty print out. They seemed well aware of the issue. They scheduled me an appointment to get them evaluated and approved and now im just waiting for them to come in for the install. This is how my lights looked.
