WhaleBack Wheelin' Aug. 1st-3rd

A few questions:

- What sequence did you do to tighten down & torque the pressure plate

-Did you install a new throw out bearing

- Is the trans mount or either motor mount damaged? there's an awful lot of movement, I'd say excessive.

- what did the flywheel surface look like? did you replace it?

 

Pretty sure we did the star pattern like you would for lugs on the pressure plate for the housing we started at the top and worked our way down on both sides. The mounts were in good condition. I found two of the bolts to be loose on the bottom like Tex pointed out. One facing backwards and the other on the bracket for the wiring. The others down the bottom were tight still.

 

Ssssoooooooo is this a bad time to ask when the next whaleback meet is???????

 

Nope not at all. There are 2 meets at Rausch in September and one at Doe Valley. Then Big Dogs in VA first weekend in October, gonna be a big meet 30+ so far!

 

So about a week after I cut my exhaust it comes apart lol not sure if it was because of no hanger on the end or it was just time for the bolts to break. Sounds like a boss though! Little I4 has a nice bark when you take her muzzle off.

Won't be out wheeling until that big dogs meet myself.

 

A lot of people are going to be there that I want to meet but if need to find a truck to tow mine there haha

 

I finally got my truck back on the road. The shop looked over everything and said it all looked good internally. I had them pull it completely apart and put it back together to make sure it the spring clamp on the throw out bearing didn't come off. The clutch is much louder then I expected. Though the shop said the dual comp clutches he has installed before were very loud so he said it was normal, they also replaced one end of the sway bar so it doesn't click anymore over bumps. I have to find a way to make up a cover for the transmission before I go off roading though.

Does this mean you ARE coming with us on the 6th? I'm not wheeling like we did last time though. Just rocking the easy peasy trails. I'm going for more of the weekend away and camping.
