Amazing House on top of a Tacoma in Alaska

Saw this in facebook. One of the group members shared from Alaska. It's not his truck, he saw it and shared in a tacoma group. Couldn't resist sharing here too.

I think that guy actually makes cedar strip canoes and kayaks for a living

 

Not sure if I am seeing this right, but doesn't the tailgate block the entry door?
And if it does block it wouldn't you be afraid of someone lifting it up while your inside?

 

That side window is large enough to climb out if that happened. Tailgate down makes a porch too.

 

Except for standing on the porch bending the porch............I am leary of even getting a shell without reinforcing the tailgate for all the crawling in and out or using the tailgate as a porch.

 

bwaaahahah, then he can become a part of the bent tail gate crew.

I do like that though…even if he took an old camper and used veneer/wood paneling. wood really is heavy, but I doubt that guy is worrying about gas mileage…he gets to sleep in his tacoma much comfortable then a lot of us!
