i'd hate to buy diesel gas though. price is waaayyy up there. by 2023 diesel will be $10 a gallon.

actually i would have thought we would all be driving electric tacomas by 2025....but who knows? :D

This is convincing Marine.Doc, but I think the market's supply and demand forces will dictate. Also depends on gas prices, which these days depends on politics a lot.

You gotta love stupid articles like this. For starters, the Dakota was a massive POS and the Ranger was unchanged for 19 years. Plus it was also a bit of a POS. Believe me I know. I used to have one. Many people forget the 1st gen Tacoma ran for 9 years. The second gen will be around for 10 years before they revamp it in '16. GM puts out another probable self-combusting crap bucket on wheels and there is actual debates as to whether the Tacoma can survive? O ye, of little faith.

Considering electricity is still coming from something most likely petroleum based... Driving electric cars doesn't help at all. I hate all this talk about driving electric cars. Each time you use a fuel to create a different source of energy, and each time you create a different source of energy you lose energy in the process.

So what you're saying is that we should just walk everywhere?

Hell no. I'm not an environmental freak at all.
I'm just saying that a lot of people don't realize that these "alternative" fuels are still using gasoline to be produced. Ethanol, some electricity and many others are produced using gasoline as an energy source, but the transfer of energy from one form to another is filled with loss, essentially meaning, you're using more energy to create something that produces less.
Do some research, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Oh I understand rocks in a box... I'm an engineer ;) But it's much more fun to participate this way.

So if walking isn't the answer, horse and buggy? Those Amish... having their corn and eating it too...

On a total off topic comment...
I once went to a McDonalds that had a hitching post in the parking lot so the Amish could tie up their horse and buggy and enjoy some "tasty" MickeyD's....

I have family in Indiana, the first time I saw one of these hitchin' posts used, I understood paradoxes fully.

I'm glad the Amish control their vehicle emissions well.
