I just installed the 265/75/16's on my mine, love them! No rubbing the stock mud flaps or anything (on road).

I've looked at on line reviews of these at a lot of tire retailer sites.
Mostly, they get great reviews, but it seems like every 5th or 6th one complains of loose, wobbly, slopping handling due to too much sidewall flex.
I don't see any of that sort of talk here...

You guys all still love these?

I've had mine for about 500 miles. Mild offroading, some slushy snow (nothing too deep), muddy clay roads, gravel roads, and street use. I'm loving them. If they continue to perform how they have been I'll buy another set for sure. I'm curious to see how they perform in deeper mud, sand, and snow. Street manners are awesome, not noisy at all.

From what I've read (yes, from the internet) the complaints are from people who are running them on full size, heavy ass trucks. The sidewall sees to be a bit squishy for those vehicles for an E rated tire. My neighbor has a set on his 1st Gen Tacoma and he said they have been great for him as well.

For those running 265/75/16 (those are all Load Range E & heavy), has there been any significant impact to gas mileage?

I did a lot of research into this before I bought them and they really aren't that heavy compared to some others. They are 49lbs/ea and my stock rugged fails were 41lbs/ea. The BFG all terrains were 54lbs/ea. I just got my first fill up since putting them on and I got 17.02 MPG average.

    UPDATE:
I originally posted on here in 2012 after I had these tires installed (265/75r16) and loved them. Its been 2.5 years now and about 25k miles and seems I am ready for a new pair. I will most likely get the s/t maxxs again as I was very happy with them. Road noise was minimal, off roaring was great, and did great in the snow! The only drawback was it being a heavier tire made my gas mileage dip a little but its to be expected with a beefier tire, I average around 15 mpg. Just wondering if 25k is normal wear on an off road tire or if they typically should last longer??

Seems like they should get at least like 35 to 40. Unless you drove them really hard on pavement and didnt rotate them properly. Seems the life was cut short on them.

I'd read about people getting waaaay more than 25K out of them, and, I wouldn't be very happy with that.

Just had a set put on today, $820 OTD, so I'll see how well they wear, my cooper AT3 tires still have lots of life left in them, so I'll be selling 5 of those, but so far the ST MAXX's on the drive home was very smooth, little louder but nothing extreme... I hope to get at least to 100k before I need a new set, I'm at 63k miles now...

Mounted balanced 4 in 265/65/17 thought about going to a 70 series but figured it would rub ? With how tall it would be compared to a normal AT tire...
