Chief Cosat is one of my division chiefs, I see him everyday. I'm a metal fabs instructor right now, I spend all day everyday looking at those wing sections!

Marine vet here, but remember my time and serving with sailors in the Gator Navy with pride and pleasure.
    Made some good friends.
Holy mackerel you guys work hard out there.

Raleigh LPD-1 <--You know you're getting old when the first pic you find of your ship is it being sunk for target practice. :(

Was aboard and resupplying from the Waccamaw when the Raleigh, the Detroit, and the Waccamaw all traded paint and parts in a collision.
All three boats had the klaxons blowing, people are somersaulting off their feet, shit was snapping and banging.
It sounded like herds of dinosaurs fighting.
Over all the noise you could still hear the Raleigh's deck chief bellowing:
"Clear the lines. Get clear those lines."

Also spent time on the Ponce, Barnstable County, Fairfax County.
I really liked the 'small' ships. You got to know and see everybody from the newest BT to the Captain.
I even got to 'steer' the Raleigh one night for about 15 minutes out in the middle of the IO.
    It was way cool! :D

Spent a few weeks on LPH's and the JFK but never really felt 'part of the crew'. My time aboard was always too short, and those boats felt like moving to NYC. No disrespect intended.

I was humping some paperwork down into one of our FLIC vans on the JFK.
They were doing some kind of maint so I had to go a new way.
I got so lost down in the some of the storage decks even the sailor who found me wasn't even sure how I got there.
I could not figure out where I was or how to get out.
Just great big dark caged in and completely empty storage areas. Something about it was so creepy. Like something from "Alien" :scared:
