You need to put some rubber between the fins on the back side so they are all touching at some point. Fuel line works pretty good, cut it in half and slide it over. In a quick fix throw a couple zip ties around it

Hey Brian, Pm me on how I could run the Tundra or tacoma brake calipers on the Dana 44 hubs. I want to build some spindles for my truck , it would be easier to build with dana 44 than Oem 6 lug bearing.

Had a great time in Monache Meadows last weekend!

    Friday:
Left Santa Barbara at noon. Ate lunch on the patio with Frankie Boy at Lazy Dog restaurant in Ventura (good spot!). Went to REI for the lady's new "Flash" camp pad which worked great. We headed out and stopped at Walmart in Palmdale for a mini speaker pod, camp chair and groceries. Stopped in Mojave for fuel and headed into the desert. Up 9 mile canyon road with the sun DIRECTLY in our eyes was not super fun. Fully loaded, we passed the Blackrock Ranger station and headed down the dirt road in the minimal light. I got to test out my lighting and have decided that I really just need a light bar on the roof to fill out some distance. We made good time and even with the bike hanging off the rear, I chose the tough angles which put big smiles on everyone's faces in the pitch black. We rolled in after 8pm and met Raul and Peter in their vehicles and chose a camp a short distance away. We were quite tired so set up the tent, unfolded chairs and lounged.

    Saturday:
I was up with dawn. Frankie, of course, began jumping around the tent so I got up and let Kylynne sleep. She got up thinking it was super late, but it was only 8:15 at that point. A little coffee and then some pancakes spread with Nutella with a side of sausages made the world right. We lounged around and my friends Jack and Cheryl rode up to our camp late morning. We hung out and caught up before I geared up and rode out on the dirt bike. Kylynne stayed with Frankie to read and my buddy James showed up to meet her about an hour later. I rode amazing trails and one trail I didn't want to do, but kept my mouth shut haha. Exhausted around 3:30 I rolled into camp and we promptly grilled sausages with beer sauteed onions, bell peppers and pepper jack cheese. The three of us hung out and I caught up with James who has a Rottweiler puppy named Dixie who is Frankie's camp girlfriend - they love each other! Jack and Cheryl rode up from the staging area later in the afternoon to hang out with us and then we all went back to their camp since they were allowed to have campfires. We MOBBED the truck down the road and had a great time. Friday night had been quite cold, so we figured a fire would be welcome and it sure was! Carne asada, corn and other sweet treats were grilled over the fire. We cruised back to camp late and were all soon crawling into comfy beds. EXCEPT ME. Frankie must have gotten on my pad with his ball because it was flat and wouldn't hold air. I slept on the ground over the pad. I definitely was sore Sunday morning.

    Sunday:
DANG - you guys left EARLY! Like 8am-ish! The last trucks left at 8:16am. I don't think my campmates stirred until 9am. I sat in the sun, walked around with the dogs, had coffee and relaxed my sore back and quadriceps. After everyone got up, we went for a hike up to (and past) the dam. We saw the beaver hut, hawks, deer and critters. When we got back, we were famished so we began to grill a marinated lamb leg with a caesar salad and wine. James packed up after having a sandwich and left before the grilling began. It was just Kylynne, Frankie and me hanging out. Frankie splayed out in the sun and Ky and I went down to the river after eating and splashed around in the deeper parts. After that, we took a nap and then we got packed up by 5pm. I had Kylynne drive us out, but she chickened out driving up the big boulder so we did the bypass. We took in the amazing views during the descent and then super slabbed it home!

I'll get some photos from the others soon.

Stopped by West Camino in my stock prerunner on my way to BarrelWorks in Buellton yesterday to drink and stock up on some good firestone limited beers. Do you guys know if its open all the way thru? I wasn't sure so i turned around and took the 154 again but looking at the map it looks like that road would actually take me pretty close if it was open all the way to Refugio rd.

It's open to Refugio rd but beyond that I'm unsure. Last I checked (about 2-3 months ago) it was closed because they were doing work on some bridge/creek crossing or something like that. Pretty sure it was still actually passable but the website said it was closed. I'll look for the link to the site....

    EDIT:

    http://www.countyofsb.org/pwd/pwroads.aspx?id=2974

Says closed to all traffic on Santa Ynez side due to Gap Fire Equipment but who know where it's actually closed and how up to date that info is?? :notsure:

you got me. I spent 2-3 hours out there this morning and had to give up. I'm too old to spend a whole day in the water. LOL

Head high+ in Goleta this morning. Heading out again possibly tonight but for sure tomorrow morning!

I've already seen a ton of barrel pics from sandspit this morning. Heard there was like 75 people out there though. LOL!
