What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I'm waiting for the new 2015 TRD Pro grill to put in mine. Should be a direct fitment... It looks old school...

 

For a double cab I believe you just remove the rubber strips on the outside roof of your cab and there should be 4 holes on each side covered with some type of film. The OEM roof rack should bolt strait to those. A shit ton easier than what I did to mod the double cab roof rack to fit my access cab.

Replaced a fuse that controls the rear brake lights, and ABS.

 

Holds up ridiculously well, I did a set of wheels before and eventually got bored with the color, it's much harder to remove but it is still removable. It gives a unique look and if I want to change my accent color later I can. Everything blue I plan to have dip underneath where I can.

 

So if I wanted to cut the abs in let's say the winter, I can't simply pull the fuse without the brakelights not working? That sucks! I was trying to avoid to a cutoff switch.

 

Cool deal! I think I will try this, how does the paint react with the plastidip? Does it just act as a primer?

 

What seats did you go with? I need to do something about mine.

Why not keep your wheels and put 265/75/16 Duratracs? That's my plan with a 3" Icon extended travel.

Ya pretty much just,a primer but when it comes tI me to peel it's a lot harder to get off....also been finding if I plasti dip something that, has been spray painted it dosent come off as easy either idk.

 

I wanted to see how my wheels would look black, so I plasti-dipped them. In the future I do plan on powdercoating them gloss black, but for now this will do.

 

kinda a sad day, I returned the intake back to stock with a k&n filter for smog reasons.... It still sounds pretty good when ur on it, but can be civil and pass right by cops without a second look.

Looks way better! I kinda liked how Plastidip gave a satin finish opposed to gloss or matte.

I'm pretty much set on 285/75r16 and I'd have to get wheel spacers to clear, which for an extra $400 I could just have a new set of wheels in the color and style I want.

I peeled and red upped mine once a year and it lasted fine, even over heavily salted passes, only thing that effected mine was getting new tires (mounting/ remounting etc) in LA you should be fine.

 

Are those tires 285's?

I hear ya. I considered the same, but my gas mileage isn't great, and I don't want it to get ridiculously worse. That way all I'm looking at is bigger tires, not tires plus wheels.
