What's interesting about that is the previous gen Colorado early years had the tailgate lock, then they ditched it on the later models and now it's back. I guess manufactures are finally realizing it's something the consumer wants.

I do like the front of the Canyon much better than the Colorado. Looks more "truck like". I agree with the comment on the tail lights, don't like them at all.

Should be interesting to see the redesigned Tacoma in 2016.

If there is a redesign by then! 2012 was supposed to be redesigned but did not happen.

    nothing cool
The new Canyon actually looks better than I thought it would. I actually hope it does well and the Mid-Sized truck competition comes back. I want Ford to bring back the F100 and Dodge to step up their Dakota. I'm not getting any of them. I just love watching YouTube videos or reading articles comparing them.

Everyone here hates on gm but my Tacoma has been back to the dealer more then my Chevy's ever did. This is my first Toyota truck and to be honest I don't think it lives up to the hype, heck my Tacoma is 2 yrs old and today left me stranded at least my previous truck 05 Colorado waited until it was 8 yrs old to break down. I think the new competition is going to be good for the Tacoma and help bring it up to where it should be for 2015.

i guess there are exceptions to everything, its just odd that u happend to have 2 exceptions back to back. (a "reliable gm product" and a problematic toyota)

Yeah. Every guy I knew that had a 1st gen Colorado, especially the 5 cylinder, had major issues within about 40K km's. We have a few good GM dealerships here though so they were usually taken care of all right. I think the Colorado will have trouble selling in my area. It's likely going to be priced to close to a Silverado for the average Chevy guy here to give it much of a look.

I had three good gm trucks, my last one the Colorado was the one that gave me the most issues. I went to Toyota because my wife's Toyota has been great. As far as my Tacoma goes I seem to have most the same issues as everyone else when it comes to these trucks.

I agree. I want to see this pick up to the point where Jeep puts out another Comanche competitor. Something like an AEV Brute (but without the V8 because that's just silly). I'd sell my taco in a heartbeat for a solid axle 'Rubicon' package truck with D44s and lockers front and rear.

Last I heard Fiat was debating bringing over there fancy new truck platform and throwing the jeep brand on it. I'd guess they'd do that before making another true jeep truck.

Can you imagen how bad the mileage would be on that truck ^^^^^ lol. Damn dem aerodynamics FTW!!!

Meh I Kinda like the step, Except the open area for the step is usually the most common place people get hit at from behind in traffic.

I've never been stranded by my 2010. But i agree with the competition for tacoma.

I had two. A 2003 Sonoma ex cab 4wd V6 and a 2007 Canyon SLE 4 door 4wd 5cyl. Plowed with both and never had a problem that was related to the design or quality of the vehicle.

Replaced brakes in both and transmission lines in the '07. They corroded due to winters recently the ABS and TPM lights stayed on. Didn't happen till it was seven years old and had 50k on it.

I cant imagine any situation where a V8 is just silly. I mean I would have done almost anything had the 2nd gen Tacoma been available with the 4.7.

I dunno about the 4.7, but the 4.6L V8 in the Tacoma would still be decent, imo.
