    Got the Chimera in today. Free UPS shipping on a giant box that's 35lbs? Unheard of.
    Crazy fast on 6s. I almost killed Rick when he stopped by :D
    Cant wait to get it in some sand.

    Had to partially disassemble to solder on some Deans plugs. What a pain with the roll cage... Thankfully everything is huge and easy to work on. Not like a mini/micro RC.

    Its my first Redcat vehicle, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. I've seen bad reviews of some of their other vehicles, but this thing is very sturdy and well built. They even updated a few things. Some of the reviews I read, people complained about the side panels having screws holding them on and being a pain to change LiPos. So people were converting it themselves to body posts and clips. This one came with body posts instead of screws from the factory. First mod will be alum C hubs and wheel bearing blocks with oversized bearings, HPI wheel adapters, and maybe some aluminum bracing.

    Looks mean! I've always wanted to try 5th scale. Now that they have brushless as opposed to the gas 2 stroke, it's a lot more tempting. Hopefully Redcat is more reliable now. I was calling it redcrap, ahaha. Everyone that I saw running them constantly broke parts. Those were all tenth scale, though.

    Was messing around and did a small jump, but it went farther than I thought it would, and didn't have enough time to stop or turn before slamming into the curb on opposite side of the road.

    Only damage, but hard to get to. This is actually a known issue with these things. What I plan to do is press a ti ring around the outside for more strength. But check out that beautiful ring gear! Spiral cut ring and pinion gears :cool:

    I've got the diff outdrive cups on order. I was gonna make a new set out of Ti, but these are all metric, and I don't have any metric drills...
    So while I wait for parts, I've rebuilt the truck without the front diff. So basically, its been reduced to a lowly prerunner :p
    I mostly put it back together so I don't lose any parts and screws. The manual is worthless...
