30 and younger thread

For me, a rear locker is needed at minimum. I want a front one but not sure what my future plans are for the front end as of yet. I needed a front locker a couple days ago when I went wheeling.

a winch would be a better purchase for you specificially imo

the front locker is for playing, the winch is for actually recovering yourself

 

I'm just saying on the steep ass rocky hills..the front didn't help he ended up winching.

 

Imagine that in a 4500lb truck that is 1' shorter

That'd just break my bank and my license LOL. Might as well stick to what little off roading i do and mod for more better off roading

 

Of course lockers won't help if there's no traction. That's where the winch comes in. But saying lockers don't help at all is silly lol

Not saying they don't help. They do. I'm saying the cost of a front locker in our rigs isn't exactly worth it for 99.99999% of tacoma people. They don't seem to help our trucks as much and really put more stress on the weak diff and cvs.

I do find it funny how long I have managed without one..haha

But it's true. Frank is fat enough and I have such a flexy rear it kinda just waddles through haha somehow it works.

My goal is to be locked next summer though. For sure at long last. But I won't drive it any different. I won't engage them unless I can't make it up open first.

now where you have made it "through more" that that dual locked rig, was that the hill on poughkeepsie gulch? Any other times you have made it through more than a dual locked rig? Or are you basing it solely on that?

We both know mike does not do trails needing a front locker, hell Im pretty sure he doesnt do trails needing a rear locker, considering monte has managed. He is just conservative, so that doesent count.
