    I just changed my oil about 500 miles, using MObil 1 filters, and yes this is the correct filter for the 2nd generation v6 engine

    Thanks a lot guys!!! anyone know where I can find a cross-reference for oil filters? I have a few Purolaters, K&N, Fram, and some others, I am not sure just what I purchased them for but I believe they all matched a vehicle that took the
    $15 M1-102 / M1-102A Extended Performance Oil Filter
    M1-102, but I am not sure The Frams are 3614, K&N 163, Purolaters PL10241, Bosh 72161, Thanks Doc

    $15 M1-102 / M1-102A Extended Performance Oil Filter
    M1-102 is the filter that fit my '98 Plymouth Neon. A common 'upgrade' filter to use for that application is the M1-204, which is somewhat bigger.

    If I remember correctly, the rubber filter gasket was slightly larger in diameter, but the machined surface of the oil filter mount on those engines was large enough to accomodate the larger diameter gasket. I don't know whether the Tacoma filter mount can accept the larger filter...if it can, I will probably use the 204.

    for the tacoma.....the m1-209 is the filter that works,besides the
    $15 m1-102 / M1-102A extended performance oil filter
    m1-102, on the v6.

    not to many, love it the way it is

    is there any chance that the filters will go bad over a long time just sitting around waiting to be used, dry up, etc...

    I was thinking of buying a case but am concerned with the filters shelf life. 10 filters may last me 4 or 5 years
