Do you want aftermarket seats or want to retrofit a seat from a different manufacture?

I would sell my buckets, but they won't match old trucks. One day I won't be lazy and will weld up a bracket for RSX seats.

Bingo! That worked for me too. I put the truck back down and had to wrestle the new starter in from the top a bit, but by running it in gear up and twisting a bit, pulling up on the fuel lines, I was able to get it in. Bolted up super fast, started right away. Sweet!

I took the old one apart and it looks great, other than where the mouse or whatever chewed the line. Looking at it out of the truck I probably could have just dumped some goo on it and it would have been fine.

I am going to fix these stuck screws:

    DSC00302_zpsa706fd2d_b213cd31dda29235f404f5282e70e67d73a901d8.jpg

And put it all back together as a used starter for sale. When I get those screws out and replaced I'll show how nice the contacts are.

So you are referring to the silver part here?

    DSC00303_zps843576b9_3eb42e826cf1aff3a6019718d9730eb2cd9d6e93.jpg

When I had this apart and cleaned the sensor (the EB part that is secured with the two screws) there was nothing inside that section - no wires, no mesh, nothing. Just a hole where the sensor drops through.

Done some research on Corbeaus and the one thing that keeps popping up is the foam doesn't hold up very well. This may be particular to the models I was looking at that had high thigh bolsters.

I'll probably fork out the cash and get some Recaros:

Unless you are caging it I would suggest getting something stock-ish. Being in "race position" all the time can be a tad annoying.

Few people have done Subaru seat swaps with good results. A lot cheaper too.

I wasn't looking to get race seats. I know jeeps are always toting around in their buckets that are otherwise normal seats. Something like this for example: http://www.mastercraftsafety.com/performance-seats/recreational-seats/mastercraft-baja-rs.html

I'm pretty sure those aren't in race position and they make reclining ones.

Apparently they changed it for 98-00. Mine is a black plastic housing and inside of it is two wires that act as the sensors.

I sat in one of those at the 4Wheel Parts on Federal.

    Very comfy.

I love my Subaru Forester XT seats though. Just need to wire them up for heat and power adjust.

Just throwing it out there, Corbeau makes a seat similar to Mastercrafts Baja RS (coincidently the same name) for a lot less....

    http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/baja_rs/

    Or get the XRS

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
Every now and then Toyota does something right.

Bought some oil filters for my wifes 4.7L 4Runner and it uses the same oil filter and my 3Rz Tacoma.

Did you use a tie rod puller/thingamajig, the 2 arm kind that pushes a bolt down the center? :anonymous: What is that called? :anonymous:

I only have a pickle fork, so I think I will have to go buy one of 'em.
