do any of you do box squats?
motherfuckers threw 4 plates w/2 quarters and used a big ass adjustable bench for theirs- they had ~3" of movement but were acting like tough shit

then they dropped to 3 plates without the box and all of them did fucking quartersquats

    The better coast
I use to do them. You need a box that fits your squat depth though. Safety racks work as well...kinda.

They make you work on control ing the weight as you go down. We use to have boxes that rattled if you sat down too hard.

I was about the same lol

My legs are so damn sore from Wednesday's Lower A workout. Gotta do them again tomorrow! My hamstrings are much sorer than my quads, so I plan on blasting my quads tomorrow. Operation tree trunks is officially underway. Upper B today. I am loving this upper lower split shit. I feel so much better hitting everything twice a week.

box squats are gay in my opinion. My mentality is "just fucking squat" instead of adding hot sauce to everything

Do them right and there a good tool. Alot of oly lifters will take like 3 months or so during the year and switch to box squats. U still get strong from them it just takes all that strain off your knees if your doing super heavy squats year round your knees are gona wana explode.

Yeah, I plan on doing a deload at around week 6. I'm gonna keep the same reps on everything, but just do about 50% of the weight

Around $1k will get you set up with a nice bar and mediocre bumper set. One of the better decisions I have made.

Ya I was looking at around 1000 to 1300 depending on the amount of weight I get. That's the same as paying $10 a month for 8 years?!?! Although it never closes and there are no gym tools

Shoot ...my home gym I got an Olympic bench for about $300 (which adjusts to incline decline & military, also doubles as a squat rack. Also has leg extension and curl function), 300 pound Olympic weight set for $200, plus 2 45lb bumpers for $150. You don't really need any bumpers other than 2 45s as long as your steel plates are smaller in circumference than the bumpers and have some rubber mats on the ground. That's pretty much everything you could need (unless you can't snatch or clean 135) for $650. I also bought a $20 EZ Curl bar and a 20 dollar pull-up bar. Or if you want 480 lbs instead of 390, two extra 45s are less than 100 bucks. So basically a fully practical gym for ~750 with tax.

What I have at my house:
